If you can't stop the run you are ****ed. I don't care who the QBs are on either side.

Favre was just having fun out there back when Mahome's parents were just having fun in the backseat of a car that resulted in Mahomes

          Re: Week 4 Discussion Thread

I don't know, man. There were clearly defining offensive plays for the Buccaneers that they messed up, but no two worse than the opening kickoff and the 4th & 2 punt decision.

A touchback is 25 yards, you return it out of your end zone while Brady had his new toys, you come up short and you fumble it.

Then the Bucs were down 14-3 (and the Chiefs would get the ball at the start of next half) and with a 4th & 2 they decide to punt it? You have Brady, Evans, Godwin, Jones, Fournette, Brate... and you decide to punt it? The worst thing that would happen is that Mahomes will drive it down field and chew up a bunch of clock while securing the same number of points they would if you were stopped short attempting to go for it. You cannot hold anything back when the Chiefs offense was looking potent as they were the first two drives before that. And if you are punting on that attempt, then you aren't checking down the play before. It just made no sense.

Yes, the Brady fumble was probably the key turnaround moment, as well as the drive with the OPI and hold. Then they don't onside kick with 3:40 left or whatever, and it seems they just didn't care to try and win this game.

I know I question this all from my couch, but sometimes I just don't get it.

Of all the teams, you'd think Baltimore would be the best at grinding out wins. From an outsider perspective it feels like Lamar wants to pass and prove himself in a contract year, but Roman and the roster are not built for him to do it right now.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Because most of their offensive production comes from running the football?

While that is true, they don't run the ball in that smashmouth, grind you down kind of way. They get their yards thru gadget type plays designed to confuse defenses and Lamar deciding to run.

When they just line up and try to play big boy smashmouth football they get stuffed.

You would think a run heavy team would be well suited to protecting leads, but not so when the run game is built around deceit
