Re: 2014 OS "Who To Start" Thread

Would you start Russell Wilson vs the 49ers or Matt Ryan vs the Steelers in a standard league? I've only played Ryan a couple of times this year and mainly just held him for precautionary reasons. Both are at home this week which bodes well for each of them, more so Ryan in that sense. I just feel like Russell has taken my team this far and I don't want to take too much of a gamble in the playoffs.

In the same league I have one player to choose for my flex:

    Golden Tate vs Vikings
    Jordan Reed vs Giants
    Malcom Floyd vs Broncos

Again, I've rolled with Tate most of the way in the flex position with Antonio Brown and ODB in my other WR slots. I've only lost twice this year. My gut tells me to go with what got me here. Seeing if anyone else has some input. Thanks in advance.

I'd go with Ryan. He's usually good at home and the Steelers secondary is horrible (and that's putting it nicely. I can't imagine Jones will miss the game, but even if he does, White and Douglas should still be enough to give him a good day. Plus, as bad as the 9ers have been lately, it's still a division/rivalry game between traditional smash mouth teams. I think Wilson will have to run for a good chunk and a touchdown to match what Ryan should do. It's VERY possible he does that but I don't think his ceiling is as high.

As for the WRs, I think you should stick with Tate.

          I'd go Crowell.

In a pretty awful spot, PPR pick one

            Chris Johnson against Titans
            Bishop Sankey against Jets
            Reggie Bush against Vikes
            Shane Vereen vs Dolphins
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

Yeah it was brutal. Had a little hope going into halftime and then the wheels fell all the way off.

Chris Johnson. He's facing his old team, and it's a team that is awful at defending the run.

Hey guys, this is my team (Nick's Nice Team), need me or my older brother (IsureHOPE) to win the playoffs because he's the commish and he paid for me to join in, haha.

think I should stick with Arizona's D/ST vs STL or go with NYJ vs Locker? different RB than Blount? other changes?

Man, this Lacy injury is killing me. I'm hoping he'll be able to go, but in adjusting my roster just in case, I'd probably end up putting Tre Mason in over Keenan Allen or Isaiah Crowell.

Not that big a deal if Mason didn't play tonight, potentially forcing my hand into an unnecessary move. Gotta love the playoffs.

Edit: think I'm gonna hold off on Tre Mason since I just picked up James Starks literally 2 minutes after posting this. I don't like the matchup for Mason, so he'll probably go off tonight if I don't start him.

Yeah I'd leave it like it is. Good luck!

I'd go with Crowell over Mason this week anyway... the extra time to decide is icing on the cake.

                            Wow that's tough.

I think it's between Gio and West. Bush is saying he's not healthy again so who knows his deal. Gore's got a horrible match up and hasn't been getting a good amount of touches anyway.

I like the other side of both the platoons in CLE/CIN better (Crowell/Hill). I guess I'd go with Gio. Definitely a better pass catching option (PPR) and probably has a better chance of having his role increased (unless Crowell fumbles which we can't predict).

What are Julio Jones owners doing this week?

This is such an unnecessary stressful situation because of this decoy crap. The latest roto blurb claims Jones wasn't able to run this week and would be a decoy if he starts. IMO this whole decoy business is the dumbest thing in sports. I understand withholding injury information but why risk a guys health over keeping a defense honest for 4 snaps? That's how long it took the Jets to see Megatron was hobbled and useless. Those 4 snaps ended up costing Megatron 4+ games. IMO if the player can't be productive, don't put him on the field at all.

I'm hoping Jones can either play at least 80% strength or sits so I can start Harry Douglas with confidence. I don't trust Mike Smith though, I would end up punching a wall if I start Douglas and Jones plays his normal roll with less snaps. So if Julio doesn't sit I am heavily considering avoiding ATL entirely and starting Kenny Stills against a burnable Chicago secondary.

You guys thinks that's a good move in this situation?

i have no clue either. im flexing douglas instead of jones right now. that can change later tonight, tomorrow morning, etc. lol

my other options are herron, marques wilson, or marquis lee. Should i keep douglas?
