Rockies seem to do the same thing every year though... keep it close and then turn it on for the photo finish. But even still, I just think you could make a playoff game work in the budget if you want to (if they make it) more than a Broncos playoff game. I was going to say the Rockies game is more likely to happen but I don't even know if I agree with that with the parity in the NFL.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
The thing with football is the TV coverage is improving every year, especially in the HD era. The game I went to, I just didn't enjoy it because of the overall atmosphere honestly. Loved seeing the stadium and team, hated everything else when I think about it.
I have the option of doing both, just the Broncos one has the wait attached to it.Aaron

That makes sense too. And (at least in Baltimore) going to a baseball game is as much a good chance to do something outdoors when the weather is nice as it is about supporting the team. I can't really speak on the atmosphere. M&T Bank Stadium is amazing so no complaints on that front around here (Skins games are a whole different story though).
I grew up playing baseball year round so I have a soft spot for it, something I can watch every day and all day and its even better in personAaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
If I were to compare it, it really felt like a Laker/Dodger game where everyone shows up fairly late to the game and just wasn't very into it. Could change with the whole Tebow mania in Denver now but the vibe I got was lackluster.

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Yea, I would rather watch baseball in person and would rather watch football on TV.
To me, going to a Bronco game is doing it just to say I went. Tickets are expensive, hard to feel as close to the action from the crowd and depending on where you are sitting and can be hard to even follow the action.
Environment wise, hands down, going to a football game is a blast and exciting whereas with baseball the excitement just comes in spurts.
If I had to take one or the other it would definitely be baseball.Comment

I would still pick football but to each his own. I will say baseball games seem to fly by in person but that's probably cause you don't have commercials every half inning.Texas A&M Aggies

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
It really seems as if Tebow is getting pushed by the media. Twice in the past week I have seen a 'Tebow spot', once on ESPN and once on NFL Network, talking about how hard he has worked this offseason and how he's ready to succeed if given the chance. This morning Cowherd was talking about him again. I honestly didn't think Tebow had a chance to start once Fox came to town. Is this just filler, or is he actually going to get a chance to start?"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

I've said it before, but I'm not crazy about the thought BUT agree with it. Orton may have better success in Fox's system than McDaniels but there was a Woody Paige article in the post the other day that pointed out his biggest deficiencies which are third downs, red zone conversions and getting touchdowns (kinda lumped one aspect into two but it was still a good point).
I like Kyle Orton, but not as a quarterback of the future.
The Broncos used a first round pick on Tebow. I don't think he is the best starter (at this point), but I would like to see him play this year so they know if they have to draft a quarterback next year or not.Comment

As for Tebow vs Orton. Tebow starts if there's camps, Orton will start if there's none. It really won't matter since it'll be a run heavy offense, polar opposite of what McDaniels had going. 2 runs, pass to convert.Aaron

I don't know, Coors Field atmosphere every time I've gone has been electric compared. Small sample size of football games for me (1) so that could be way different with 8 trips to the game. Really the only thing I would want the Broncos season tickets, playoffs if they ever managed to get into them.

Fox has said running back is their main focus whenever the free agency market opens, hopefully they lure DeAngelo Williams. I can't remember how Orton did with playaction but if the Broncos had Plummer, it'd be fun to watchAaron

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I miss old Mile High. That was a magical place. The old stadium was absolutely electric, and you really felt like you were a part of the game...affecting the outcome. And you know what? You were.
Invesco is a nice stadium, but it has nowhere near the feeling that Mile High had. Ticket prices have gotten so high, the true fan is left at home while the wine and cheese crowd attends the game and sits on their collective hands. Result? Home field advantage lost, and the Broncos home record shows it.Comment
