People are really pushing for Cowher over on the Broncos forum.

Atleast we should be able to pick whoever we want first and everyone follows after for the most part unless someone really wants a major project.

I actually think Cowher would be a good fit in Denver. It'd be a good situation for him, but their D is so bad... as is their current running game, it'd be interesting to see how long it took him to get it all to his liking. My guess is if he gets any kind of control (that he's asking for) he'd have cuts that rivaled the Dolphins from this year.

I look at our defense like an old classic car you find out in the field- neglected for a very long time but with some work it'll be one sweet ride. . We need attitude and lots of it for this team.

I'm hoping we get a running back that can stay here for more than one season while remaining healthy. RB + Defense = Mess.

The thing with Cowher is how much power he wants and who he wants to bring in. I dont think Bowlen would entertain another GM-HC after Shanahan tried and failed. Oh, we have to wait to see what Shanahan does because we may not be able to offer a large contract with $20M tied to Shanahan until he finds a new spot.

our running game is not bad at all. thats a lie. we are ranked 12th in yards and 2nd in yards per carry at 4.8

our line is great and ryan clady is the best young left tackle in the game and he will only get better. denver doesnt have a featured back so we dont run as often but when we do run the ball we are very effective.

also because our defense is the worst in the league and gives up 28 points per game we are forced to pass most of the game to keep up with the other team. and also simply because denver is becoming more of a passing team because of cuter, marshall, royal, and sheffler.

but we can still run the rock!

Cowher is a good fit imo. Not sure he really wants to coach this year. Key to Cowher would be getting the right fit at GM, and would have to be someone who would allow Cowher more control in personnel moves than most GM's are used to.

I think getting Cowher eliminated Pioli and Reese from the GM job.

Cowher's a good fit, I think they just have to get their other ducks in a row first.

I'd like to have Cowher but I dont think Bowlen would spend much time on a coach that doesnt seem interested in coming out of retirement this year. Bowlen will probably poke around a little to find out what Cowher is thinking.

Cowher wanting to run his show doesnt help either, Bowlen wants his coach first. That makes me believe his GM is already narrowed down to someone currently working in the front office.

Who knows though, anything can happen if Shanahan got fired.

                        Cowher is out.

McDaniels is believed to be leading the race with Spagnuolo in 2nd

The official source for NFL news, video highlights, fantasy football, game-day coverage, schedules, stats, scores and more.

Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo comes with rave reviews. He greatly impressed the Broncos executives he had dinner with Saturday night in New Jersey, and it wouldn’t be overly surprising to see him wind up with the job.

But most league insiders believe Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, the coach the Broncos are interviewing Sunday morning, is the leader for the Denver job.

For starters, McDaniels is at the stage in his career now that Dan Reeves was when the Broncos made him the youngest head coach back in 1981. Owner Pat Bowlen bought the team in 1984 and stayed with Reeves for nearly a decade.

When Bowlen later hired Shanahan in 1995 (after a two-year stint with defensive-minded Wade Phillips), the owner once again was drawn to the coach’s youth and offensive imagination.

And, at 32, McDaniels would bring Bowlen the same attributes his two primary coaching hires have. Plus, as the Patriots’ play-caller and offensive mastermind with defensive-minded head coach Bill Belichick, McDaniels got the most out of quarterback Matt Cassel. Just imagine what McDaniels could do with Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler.

Denver still will go through an exhaustive interview process. But league insiders believe McDaniels is the coach to beat.

Thoughts on Rex Ryan? He wants to run the show for a team

These playoffs are great, we get to see most of the coaches interviewing for our team call their games and see how they act on the sideline

EDIT- Raheem Morris is coming in today for his interview instead of Wednesday.. interesting.

Nice, Rex. Ask for the highest coach's salary in history, full power over all personnel decisions, a private jet and a stable of women. Anything to keep every team out there from offering you a job and you leaving the Ravens.

First he's pulling for Stoops to come coach here and now he's saying how great Elway will be as a HC. "Thats the best name I've heard so far"

In that blog it said that McDaniels had success because he worked along side a defensive mastermind. If McDaniels is the head coach for Denver next season he will be far away from any defensive genius. It won't be a success. McDaniels reminds me a little of Lane Kiffin, as well.
