Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
If Tebow was Denver's QB, Denver would be 0-2 with a total of 9 points over 2 games, 101 total yards passing, and a QB rating of 75.1 (which was his overall rating last year). I think we would all take Manning any day of the week and twice on Sundays.:wink:Last edited by TRC; 09-22-2012, 02:47 PM.Comment

I'd also like to see Decker step up this week as well. To me, he's coming across as somewhat soft. If he's in traffic or being contested for the ball, he hasn't exactly shined. I'd like to see some toughness out him, and maybe a little bit of scrappiness...like Stokley. I love how that dude fights for the ball. He could have both hands tied behind his back and he's still going to fight like hell to catch it.Comment

That slide from Decker was pretty much all I needed to see.Last edited by Jonsco28; 09-23-2012, 08:09 PM.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I've been watching the Broncos play for 25+ years and that Decker slide was the most pathetic thing that I have ever seen a Broncos player do. He doesn't deserve to wear that number...a number that exemplifies toughness.
I completely agree with Jonsco in terms of what Stokley brings to the table. You should be surprised when that dude doesn't catch the ball.
Anymore, I am surprised when Decker DOES catch the ball.
Production is one thing, being able to make a catch when it matters is another.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I don't understand why they don't stay with the no-huddle when they are obviously way more productive operating out of it. Their huddle-up offense has the look, feel, and smell of what McCoy was running pre-Tebow. Manning looks so much more comfortable in the no-huddle, I wish they would just roll with it. They have not moved the ball with any consistency whatsoever out of their conventional huddle-up offense.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Listen, there is plenty of blame to go around today. Denver was beaten at all phases of the game by the Texans. I will say that both Decker and Thomas have work to do to become Denver's next great corps of receivers. They don't have the chemistry that Manning has with Stokely...who continues to be Manning's go-to receiver because the guy is clutch during key times in games. Decker has missed on a couple of passes during critical times in the past 2 games and that slide was strange ( I have never seen a receiver fold like that since Dion Sanders played WR for the.Cowboys). And Demaryius HAS to learn to drag his feet on that TD pass which would have provided Denver with more time to mount a game-winning drive. Don't get me started on the Defense... And Mike McCoy's offensive "genius"....
Denver will be ok, but they continue to be a work in progress. They need to get healthy, and they desperately miss Kuper. I think.that they will be ok once they decide to play a full 60 minutes.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Exactly, and I think Fox may have a significant hand in this as well. He is a conservative coach by nature, and the simple fact is that it doesn't mesh real well with what Peyton manning likes to do. I watch Manning come out and run that huddle-up offense and it's just hard to witness. He looks like a fish out of water. We've all seen a lot of Manning games when he was with the Colts....in no way does that huddle-up offense they run resemble anything like what I have seen Peyton run in the past.
IMO, Manning is just playing nice right now. He's doing his best to toe the company line. Everyone can see how frustrated he is. It looks like he is just trying to be respectful and not step on anybody's toes. They need to just let Manning go and take control of the offense. McCoy appears to be mudding things up right now, and the only reason I say that is because I've seen this offense before out of Denver. I've never seen Manning operate in an offense like this.
You may as well take the 1 off of Manning's jersey if this is how they are going to use him. Let Manning be Manning.Last edited by Jonsco28; 09-24-2012, 10:02 AM.Comment
