Gotcha. That makes sense as we've seen it before.

He is such a weapon to have in the right scenario.

Mhm. Need a 50+ yarder? He's who I want. It's that 40-49 range that seems to vex him at times. Like he's in between clubs. Too short for the driver, too far for the three wood.

Cut Holliday???? Really???? Outside of his first game with Denver against San Diego Holliday has done nothing to cost the team. In fact, he has given Denver a legitimate special teams threat that they were desperately missing. Moreover, Holliday turned a couple of games around for Denver when they were sputtering by running kicks or punts back for huge moementum-changing TDs. You may think he is a fumble waiting to happen, but would you rather have Leonhard, Boldin, or Decker running back kicks who really aren't scaring anybody into kicking the ball away from them or out of bounds? Not me. Holliday was yet another key signing by Denver that makes them a 3-dimensional team. Thanks Texans!;-)

I would be far more comfortable with Leonhard or Decker returning punts and I say that fully acknowledging Holliday's potential every time he touches the ball.

I think people are way too hard on Holliday, geez. heck one year people were questioning Adrian Peterson fumbling the ball too much.

Holliday has had 2 returns for touchdowns, and countless other returns setting us up for good field position. He lost one fumble, and he fumbled today once. The other "fumble" he was already down.

Having a legitimate threat to score every time helps us tremendously and I love it.

                  Amen.
How does Holliday's only turnover 9 weeks ago overshadow his 2 TDs and his multitude of runbacks that changed field position to Denver's favor? Come playoff time, Holliday could become instrumental. I too worry about his fumble fingers at times, but he has proven that the his rewards far outweigh his risks.

I agree with TRC....Holliday was a great pick-up for the Broncos. They aren't going to cut him.

He does make me a little nervous fielding the ball deep in Denver's own end. I would prefer that they continue to let Leonhard field those punts.

Turnovers are the only thing that really hurts this team. On that note, McGahee can remain seated as far as I am concerned.

We lost games because of turnovers. We have Manning. Just catch the ball and let Manning do his thing.

You'd think the kid would start putting two hands on the ball when contact was coming.

So...We've discussed what's happening and what's going on presently but I'm curious about your thoughts on these scenarios:

Tracy Porter is apparently coming back this week. How does that make you feel.

I know this is getting way ahead of ourselves so I pose this question as a hypothetical. When McGahee comes back, who do you go with (as of this moment)?

The way Harris and Carter have been playing, I would prefer to see Porter in the dime and in spot duty.

But hypothetically, if McGahee was back next week and 100% healthy, i would start with a 60/40 load in favor of Moreno (can't believe I'm saying that).

Right now, there's no way I can just bench the guys starting. McGahee and Porter will both have rust to knock off, and making them carry a load will hurt them.

I think the right thing to do with Porter is put him in situational nickel packages and make sure his body can handle the load.

With McGahee, he won't be ready to carry the ball 20-25 times. Moreover, Moreno is playing well and is fresh. I doubt McGahee would be a real factor until the Super Bowl. There's no guarantee he'll even be ready by the AFC championship game.

That's another point about Moreno. He's fresh. Other guys are wearing down, he's been rested. That could contribute to his success right now. Not that I'm saying anything derogatory about him, just making an observation.

Porter/McGahee vs Harris/Moreno... not a bad problem to have. I will have to admit that I was down on Moreno, but now I am eating crow. He has been solid and has protected the ball. However, I think that McGahee resumes his "starter" role upon his return. Not to say that the "starter" should automatically play ahead of a guy who has the hot hand late in the season.
I often think about the 1998 KC Chiefs when Denver played them in the playoffs. Elvis Grbac was out for the last half of the season and Rich Gannon was playing at a very high level in his back-up QB role. Then, Schottenheimer decided to play Grbac vs Denver as he was finally ready to go. Grbac was rusty and not good, and Denver ended up in the Super Bowl.
I hope Fox stays with whomever gives them the best chance to win. Harris has been playing lights out which means Porter will be a situational guy. It is nice to have good depth with fresh players at this point in the season.

I agree, kehlis, I see Porter being relegated to spot duty only. That's the only thing that seems to make sense. Harris and Carter have been great, and I can't see him starting over either one of them barring injury. Plus, Porter signed a 1-year deal and I doubt that he is back next year.

I think everyone here was down on Moreno at some point. It's great to see him contributing, and like 86 said...he's fresh and maybe that's why. He's also been hit with a dose of humble pie which probably put a little bit of a chip on his shoulder and I think he may be playing more with a sense of gratitude, not entitlement. I like what I've seen so far.

I am not anxious to see McGahee back in there for the simple reason that I don't trust him to hang on to the ball. He is prone to fumble at anytime - big hit not required.

No need to disrupt what is working. Just get Kuper back.
