    Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread

Posting in this thread bc I don't want to stir the pot... where are all the people that said McDaniels was destroying the team? That said "giving Cutler away" was the stupidest thing they could do and now they're the worst team in the NFL?

Orton's a winner. People hate on him way too much. And McDaniel has set a heirarchy of control and appears to be bringing order back even with malcontents doing whatever they can to create chaos. There's a lot of football left to play, and I still don't see your Broncos in the SB this year, but considering everything that changed in the offseason, to look AT LEAST as good as you did this time last year (and arguably better) should be something to be very happy about.

Probably cheering for the Broncos despite swearing they were no longer fans because of the trade.

Atleast everyone in this thread has kept the attitude of wait and see, instead of ranting (like the Denver Bronco forum) about McDaniels, only to swear they are now Bears fans lol.

I think the only thing I've really been critical on McDaniels has been the draft- specifically Moreno and Alphonso Smith? Other than that, I've atleast tried to maintain a level head and realistic outlook (ie my 7-9 prediction)

I believe he's only had 2 losses at home in his career, he's not sexy but I'll take that every Sunday. I was definitely frustrated with some of Ortons throws yesterday but I just remind myself he's throwing with a banged up finger and glove which up until this point he had some plastic brace on his finger.

      17/28 for 243 yds, 1 td, 0 ints
      19/37 for 263 yds, 1 td, 0 ints
      13/23 157 yds, 1 td, 0 ints
      20/29 for 243 yds with 2 tds, 0 ints.

For McDaniels, this start to the season couldn't of gone any better.

I got a man crush on Nolan. The entire attitude on the defense has changed, I love it.

Yeah, everyone here has had the right attitude... that's why I wanted to post it in here instead of the main forum, lol.

I felt you on the Moreno pick but I raised the same eye brow when MIN drafted Peterson right after they signed Chester Taylor... seemed to be a good pick, lol. I don't know if Moreno's the next AP but it does seem like the pieces they've brought in on D and the addition of Nolan have made a huge difference. And most importantly, it seems like the new GM and coaching staff have more of a clue than many were giving them credit for. Even more impressive, last game was really the first where Marshall has been a huge part and they're still 4-0. Orton's looking like this year's Chad Pennington. I hope he can keep it up. He deserves more respect along with your new coaches and GM.

With the injuries to SD (and the "improved" Chiefs and Raiders looking worse than last year), the Broncos should be in this thing until the end. It's great to see. Just don't expect my support when you guys play the Ravens.

Lol. I'm pretty sure I know at least one guy you are referring to and I am pretty sure I am now on his ignore list.

The funny thing is that my argument was never that they would be a great team (anyone here raise your hand if you predicted 4-0).

My biggest argument was against a particular Steeler fan who claimed the Broncos were such a dysfunctional mess because of their offseason. It is pretty clear that was/is not the case and I never got how anyone could make that claim unless they were around the team, even moreso how a fan of another team (simply because it isn't likely they follow the Broncos enough to make a claim like that) could make that claim based only off of a few bits of information.

Yeah... but there were definitely a few people saying the same thing a few different ways. I'm not a Broncos fan and have no ties to McDaniel but it doesn't make sense to me either. The Broncos may be this year's Dolphins or may end up 7-9... I'd still trust what the owner, new GM and coach know about the situation and how everything went down. Everybody just jumped on the bandwagon. I'm glad your boys are proving them wrong.

Hopefully they can keep this up. I was probably one of the rare few that liked the trade for Cutler/Orton. Cutler always seemed to put himself before the team. Unlike Orton who seems to understand the label of a team sport.

After this stretch of Big Games we will have a better understanding on how good the Broncos really are. Still exciting to be 4-0.

Aside from a buddy I teach with, my Uncle Jerry, the regulars here, and I are the only ones that were supportive of the trade and the new regime (We all hated to see Shanahan go but knew it was time).

It is quite funny how everyone was aboard from the get-go, now. All a person has to do is review this thread to check the true alliegence and what all of us have been saying from that, "get-go".

You know, this schedule still has many rough spots left, we'll see how many bandwagoners get knocked off along the way.

What I am most happy about is the success this regime has experienced thus far for the simple fact of shutting up all the morons that were flat mean toward Coach McD, Orton, Bowlen, Xanders, et al. One thing that never changed from the beginning is the quality of character of all these individuals.

So, to get traded, all B. Marshall had to do was punch one of Carmelo's entourage?

Unfortunately, Melo's from Baltimore. I doubt he's got any boys worth punching out in Denver. And considering Marshall's previous off field activities, getting into it with any of Melo's boys in Denver or Baltimore probably would've gotten him in a body bag before a trade could even go down.

And continuing to take your joke waaaaay too far, Marshall also would've needed a lot more dropped passes in 08. Ok, carry on.

Buckhalter didn't practice yesterday, seems like he'll be out for atleast this week, probably 2-4 weeks without him. Reminds me of what Royal dealt with last year

Kyle Orton is playing without the glove today.

He has missed a lot of passes that he shouldn't up to this point (even the TD to Marshall was poorly thrown). He needs to be more accurate, hopefully this helps.

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I a so happy for this organization. I know there are 11 more games but these first 5 were as exciting as any stretch I have experienced sinced 1977.

Kyle Orton had zip on his throws, I guess that answers the glove question.

Knowshon Moreno had a brilliant game. It will be good to get Buckhalter back just to moderate his load.

Love how Eddie Royal got some action today. Actually, Orton spread the ball around beautifully.

What can you say about that defense. How much longer do we have wait until we can break back out our Orange Crush tshirts?

Finally, I wish OS had an icon of a big middle finger for all the bashers of the Broncos. We all said "We'll see!" It feels good right now.

Agreed. Huge win, Orton looked great without the glove, the defense shutout the Pats after halftime and most importantly, I'm seeing more emotion on the sidelines than I can't remember seeing in a long time.

I'm with you on the middle finger icon. There is a particular Steeler fan who as recently as last week said the Broncos were not as good as their record.

Fired up about the win, but some huge games upcoming. Can't wait to see how they unfold.

PS, can we please just re-sign Marshall now and get everything past him, I think it is clear he wants to be a part of this team.
