Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
Bringing up something related to you when it had nothing to do with you just so that you can further complain about something that you complain about all year is whining. You're the only one who seems to be mad.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
Update from training camp per Roto World:
Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne are working as the two passing-down linebackers in the Saints' nickel package at OTAs.
MIKE linebacker Lofton and weak-side starter Hawthorne will be every-down 'backers, with SLB Scott Shanle exiting in nickel sets. It's particularly notable for Lofton because he was considered weak in coverage in Atlanta. The Saints like him plenty in that role, and he should lead the club in tackles this year.
Martez Wilson is also currently practicing at the defensive end position. I really have high hopes for this guy and with the signing of 3 LB's in the off-season I'm happy their trying to find a way to keep this guy on the field.
Joe Morgan was also mentioned by Pete Carmichael as looking very impressive so far "especially his speed" which is no surprise.
Not sure how I feel about our CB's transitioning to a zone defense but I guess we will see how that plays out.Last edited by ABR173rd; 05-24-2012, 11:40 AM.Comment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
I really liked how Martez Wilson played when he was in, he was one of the few disruptive guys on the defense.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
Given the concepts Spags has I can see guys like Martez and Galette thriving, Cam was great in the Run D and alright in the pass rush so hopefully he learns some stuff as well.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
No doubt man, I'm really excited to see how they implement him this season in whatever capacity. Hawthorne, Loft, and Cassillas were are starters in base D so far. Shanle also hasn't been present though which as of right now I believe he is penciled in at SLB.Comment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
Interested to see what becomes of the WRs this OTA/Training camp.
Colston/Moore are top, but then we got Nick Toon, Old Man Devery, Adrian Arrington and Joseph Morgan. If anything I kinda hope Morgan makes it and Arrington gets dropped or something as I think he has a better chance of replacing Devery.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
I know a lot of Saints fans are still enamored with Arrington but I think we've seen all were going to get from this guy. He is not a Colston replacement and from the what Ive seen of Morgan I'm really excited to see this kid get on the field.Comment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
Which is why I want to see Morgan over Arrington unless he falls apart in preseason, Toon sounds like more of a Colston replacement and Morgan seems to have the skillset of Devery who will have to be be replaced soon.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Official New Orleans Saints Thread
"The Saints want it noted that they signed Brees coming off shoulder when other teams were leery. General manager Mickey Loomis and owner Tom Benson have maintained confidence that a deal will get done. At the event to commemorate Benson's induction into the Saints' Hall of Fame, he said, "I assure you that Drew Brees will be playing here."
Was just reading this article on NFL.com and if I can remember correctly weren't we pushing for Daunte Culpepper and he went with the Dolphins? I know a lot of fans were pulling for Culpepper and we also drafted Adrian Mcpherson who was supposed to be the second coming of Michael of Vick.
I thought it was funny the front office wanted this noted, as if we had any other choice at that point.Comment
