I'm sure not having Ferraro speaking on camera was an actual decision and not an omission of any other reasoning. I doubt you would green screen Eddie and Doc and then have an animated version of Ferraro in. And it wouldn't have made any more sense to green screen him while he was between the benches.

You might be right, but then why have him standing over there? HAHA.. I only knew he was there because I went into a replay.

Only on OS will you find gamers with such strong opinions that have never even played the game.

Say what you want, but this game plays fun. Feels different than the other NHL games. And at this point that is all I care about.

To me, presentation means next to nothing. If I want to see a game that looks like its on TV, I'll watch it on TV. I play to PLAY. I want to feel like I am part of the action, not just a dude on the couch watching a game.

Plus, name one other sports game that has great commentary that DOESN'T get stale and repetitive after a month. People praise NBA2k, but play a team more than once and you hear all the same stories over and over.

I think games should cut out the commentary and focus more on in game noises and variation.

I'm 15 games into my BeaGM and have played at least that many play now and vs against my neighbor. I like the game play a lot, my beef is that if the focus was on game play and presentation this year, I want MORE presentation.

I did not buy it for PS4 because no season mode. But I have played the demo a lot and I have to say they have nailed Ray Ferraro's part perfectly. But the other team especially Doc is off a little bit I will give them a pass on this untill next year and then we will see what we get I am betting it will much better.

I got the system and the game today. I understand why people don't like the broadcast. Doc's commentary is definitely not as good as it is in real life. But, I understand that. It can be difficult to mimic human emotion in an artificial setting.

I still like it a whole lot better than the 10th consecutive year of Thorne and Clement's repetitive BS (dogs on raw meat, Gary!).

And the NBC Sports presentation is beautiful. Yes, they could have done more. But, it's the first iteration. Give it time. I think it's very cool looking though.

This game is an utter disappointment. I can't believe having not released a hockey game at next gen launch that this is what they came up with a year later. The list of what's wrong with this game is endless. This is the only game that I own that I have to adjust the sharpness on my tv because of the blurriness (PS4). What's sad is it's obvious when playing, that this game has the foundation of being something very special. I'm not a fan of the commentary at all! I understand the need for a shift in commentators but the implementation is just horrendous. It honestly detracts from the game. Why at this point in sports gaming can't we have an option for different commentating crews? Why couldn't they leave Clement's crew to do like "espn" games and the new crew to do the nbc games? At the end of the day it's just a half baked product with tons of potential.

It seems that EA hasn't put a ton of effort into commentary for several years. Maybe they figure that a majority of people are playing online with a headset and/or not listening to the commentary?

But with NHL, the commentary was good in '07/'08, but then was pretty much untouched until this year. In NCAA football, the commentary in '03 was as good if not better than '14. Madden has had multiple announcers in the last few years with each version being fairly robotic and disconnected from the action on the field.

I really don't like Mike Emerick. That being said, I actually don't mind the commentary. It's definitely not great, and it gets a bit repetitive, but for a first year with a new crew, I think it's fairly well done. I wish there was a bit more emotion to it, and a smoother flow though.

As for the visual presentation, i think it's outstanding. It's identical to an NBC broadcast. My only complaint with the visual presentation would be the fact that it doesn't show the season total goals when playing in season mode. It always shows the number of goals in the current game. That really bothers me. When playing in a season/franchise, I want to know how many goals that guy has on the season, not in the current game. Or at least show me both.

Unfortunately, yes the presentation isn't perfect (no opening season stuff, etc) but its the first year of all this so I don't know what you expected. Madden was the same way a few years back and I haven't played it since but I am guessing it is much better a couple years later. As long as EVERY YEAR, they keep adding to presentation (especially commentary) then that will be fantastic.

That being said it's still much better than what we had with the same stuff the last 10 years, of which they stopped really caring years back, same as NCAA series. Instead of only updating the presentation for the first 2-3 years, they need to stick with it.

Not enough stats shown during the game, the goal total displayed when scoring is embarrassing and the commentary is repetitive. Other than that, it is ok.

I think its not terrible, but yeah as the gameplay.. its almost identical to Nhl 13/14.

At least the puck physics is "nextgen".

I can deal with the commentary although some very annoying lines being repeated. It's the lack of stat banners in gm mode that kill this for me. Look at nba and madden, stats galore keeping you updated on game and season performance. In nhl nothing! How hard was it to put in the amount of goals a player has on the season when he scores? Basic stuff.

Lets be fair. NHL15 announcers are green screen. NBA 2k's are animated.

I'm not blindly defending EA either. They should be slapped for the debacle that is NHL15. But its not fair to compare the # of outfits in NHL15 to a game that doesn't use real people on green screens.
