I don't mind it so far. Sure there are a lot of repeat lines but otherwise I enjoy listening to them, especially Olczyk since I get the Blackhawks games here as well.

Shadow of the boards is probably the one I hear the most that I'm stick of.

I'm going to disagree with my friend OBG on this one. Yep, the comments that are messed up or very generic can get irritating, but overall imo, it's not terribly done.

Doc and Eddie, not so much... But every time Ray chimes in, it feels like a real broadcast. Hopefully he'll be with the NHL series long-term, as so far he's the only one of the trio who knows how to do voice-work the right way.
So true about Ferraro. His addition is the best thing.

I'm fine with the change, but everything I've heard, the delivery is just off. Maybe it's just highlighted by the change in announcers, but it seems there are more awkward pauses and spaces where something should be said, but no one does.

I don't think it is what is being said during the commentary that is the problem.. It's when it is being said. Like many have stated it is annoying when they say things at the wrong time or it's wildly inaccurate.

Scoring a goal on a slapshot only to have them say it was a bad angled shot when it was from in front of the net is ridiculous. There has to be some coding error.

So sloppy. I was really excited for this year's NHL. Bah.

In real sports broadcasts there are frequently times where the announcers don't say anything. It may seem awkward because it's a video game, but pauses are actually quite realistic.

With that being said, if there are times when the commentary is inaccurate then that is something different that should be worked on.

It's a mixed bag for sure.. and why don't they cut to Ferraro during the game, his cyber self is there, I figured at some point they would cut to him talking into the mic.

Sound is a mixed bag too.. sometimes the crowd is alive and at other times, you can hear a pin drop.

It's almost as if they had game play issues they had to clean up before getting the product out of the door and there is missing code in many parts of the game.

What kills is the fact that anyone that has listened to Doc during NHL games knows how passionate and how much enthusiasm he has when he calls games...

That just isn't there period in this game. Rammer stated that they recorded different intensities for different moments in this game.

How Doc's "SCORESSSSS!" isn't in this game....makes no sense at all.

I'm going to assume that, like a lot of stuff not in this game, they never got around to actually finishing the implementation. He may be standing there, but they probably didn't give him any animations for speaking, gesturing on camera, and so forth.

I'm sure not having Ferraro speaking on camera was an actual decision and not an omission of any other reasoning. I doubt you would green screen Eddie and Doc and then have an animated version of Ferraro in. And it wouldn't have made any more sense to green screen him while he was between the benches.

Presentation is one area of the game which I feel they didn't mess up too badly. They are missing some of the excitement you normally get from Doc and Eddie and there are some dull moments but they have a good foundation for future games. After playing nothing but Madden the past month, ANYTHING is better than Simms and Dr. Robot.

Only on OS will you find gamers with such strong opinions that have never even played the game.

Say what you want, but this game plays fun. Feels different than the other NHL games. And at this point that is all I care about.

To me, presentation means next to nothing. If I want to see a game that looks like its on TV, I'll watch it on TV. I play to PLAY. I want to feel like I am part of the action, not just a dude on the couch watching a game.

Plus, name one other sports game that has great commentary that DOESN'T get stale and repetitive after a month. People praise NBA2k, but play a team more than once and you hear all the same stories over and over.

I think games should cut out the commentary and focus more on in game noises and variation.

Im disappointed with the nhl 15 product as a whole. The commentary seems so monotone and uninterested in the on screen play I liked nhl 14 commentary more
