Exactly.. this new rating layout seems to work well with the maxing out of the AE slider.

It works for CPU as well. I’ve seen wide open yawning nets missed, puck mishandled on dekes, and skating away from CPU with a faster player and them not warping to catch up.

Me too.. players lose the puck more, passes miss their mark, etc.. unless the top lines are out, then I scramble to cover up the slots.

I had a wicked slap shot goal by Jaskin today and he's my 4th line LW. He was in a great spot and I had time to glide into the shot. Felt great.. most of the time if I shoot with him just to get a shot off, the puck goes wide/high and greatly misses its mark. It feels much more rewarding when I score with a player like him now.

LOL.. maybe wait until a few more people play some games with this setting maxed out. I don't want to steer you wrong.

Check my slider thread too as I've been playing my franchise games with these settings as well and will continue to do so. I even had a total of 12 penalties last game and I actually had 8 power plays.

Looking forward to playing different teams. I have Tampa Bay next then back home against Chicago.

Very interesting regarding the Attribute slider at 10.
I would like to see your entire slider set...have you got a link?
I want the game to reflect the "stars".....so I want to see Taresenko wire one off the rush, Ovie blast one, and Crosby to out hustle me...
I hated it when I would see 4th liners lead the scoring.
So in your findings, did you see such separation?
I currently play it on "5"

Following a post on the board I had a session yesterday with using the TRUE BROADCAST camera. My goodness the game looks stunning, and plays VERY differently.
It is very difficult with the control set up (finding it very tricky to go "top shelf") so need tips, but the "gaps & space" on the ice seem much more realistic, compared to the traditional "over head"--(that may be just in my mind of course)
Take a look guys, and let me know if you figure out the "pad"

If you guys are on Xbox One, buy EA Access for $5 bucks for one month. Try out NHL 18 for 10 hours before buying it. Make sure you like it.

I do think you're on to something here. However, I tried it with 2 ECHL teams and it was brutal. Almost in a good way though. I'm going to keep on playing to get a good sample size and go from there, I just might have to stick to NHL teams though.

on my franchise settings, I've started to play with attributes effects: 10 and several other adjustments, but... one thing I did do was keep CPU Strategy Adjustment: 3.


It was playing great in tell I had to go do sum errands, go to my first BCHL Hockey game, with powell river kings, I like how it plays sometimes, but I think todays hockey can't even begin to match speed and low scores and low shots of 20 minutes.


I saw the speed, the game cannot even match that, nor match the size differences and checking and balance or learning curve or random events a game has and stuff.


Another thing I'd like to point out, from what I saw was a lot of stick on sticks slapping together, agitation of players and stuff, getting to dirty areas , lets mention the breaks out, if EA Sports could ever match Break outs and stuff how they come out from around the net, most of the time I saw them go from side of the net, about 1-3 feet from goalie.


most of the goals I saw were long range goals and screen shots.

The thing I noticed most at attributes 10 is that it totally eliminates the speed difference between cpu and human, which is awesome. That last 4 games I played have been great. The only other thing I changed was made puck control less. Will probably start my franchise with this

Yes it does and slower D players like Bortuzzo for my Blues gets caught up the ice too much, so I have to watch that with him.

Damn you guys. I was moving on from NHL18 cause I wasn't following hockey much as I used to (no cable ) and it being a lot like 17 and last few years. But with this and some things I've wanted back in made it (minor stuff but big for me lol)... makes it tempting....

I hope more can try this out and chime in before we push you into poverty.

I getting ready to play the Lightning, which should be a good battle. One thing that's different for me though.. Fabbri is healthy.

Someone posted in my sliders thread they played a great team vs a much lesser rated team (might have been USA vs Japan or something similar, sorry I forgot the exact teams) and won 9-2, totally dominating them with AE set at 10/10. That reminded me of someone playing basically the same teams with it at default 5/10 and the game was pretty even.

I found that to be pretty neat.

Get some Ramen noodles.. 10 packs for a $1 here at Walmart. :P
