Long time no see. I hope you don't mind me popping up a new thread, but I feel that the effort I put into making this video would justify it.
What is the video about then?
I have tested several older NHL games lately and I must admit that I'm surpirsed that NHL 17 stood up out of the bunch. The only thing that is somewhat better in newer titles is basically the skating. Otherwise, the game feels (I repeat FEELS) the most complete version.
The events during the gameplay seem a lot more random (in a good way, e.g. goal variety, collisions, even injuries), there's a sense of battle in the rink instead of occasional big hits, the puch physics feel better and even the skating – even though lacking in many areas in comparison to newer titles – manages somehow to feel better than in the more recent entries in the series. Everything has "more weight" if it makes any sense. And let's not get into the presentation at all (NHL 17 has TV-like presentation that makes NHL 25 presentation look like a joke).
I have tried to pick up interesting details during the gameplay to show what I mean. I hope you enjoy the video! If you do, remember to like and subscribe.
The songs used in the video are my own production as well. In case you like it, check out also @sir_chimpanzi_music !
