So played the CBJ/EDM matchup and was cautiously pessimistic until the last several minutes of the game when I realized the game has 6 minutes left and I am down 3-1... (Game finished 4-1 after an empty netter)... In the real match up, the game was 6-3 last night, so after one game, I didn't necessarily see the "swiss cheese" goalie play... Maybe this was a one off or a sign of what is to come...

In my 3 games since the patch I’ve had scores of 6-4, 7-5 and 6-5. Many of the goals were very soft too.

I'm not having these issues either. Feels fine to me and scores haven't changed so far through 3 games on default Superstar.

I have quite opposite impression tbh. Played on default sliders, but with 6 min periods (superstar, 6/6). Shots are 27-31, score just 2-1. Goalies are pretty realistic so far.

For as much as I love my adjusted sliders for a bit better gameplay experience I always find myself going back to as close to default as possible. I just feel from the games I've played that the CPU teams play so much more aggressive on default settings than they do with adjusted sliders.

I just played one play now game on NHL 25 default sliders, 3 min periods, legit out of the box settings no changes at all Pens 3 Rangers 2 Final! Pens with 17 shots, Rangers 19 shots. 43 combined hits. 1 power play for each team.

I've went through the leaky goalies prior to the patch and seemed to point to AE being at 10. Really no issues when set to 5 and or 7 max.

By far this is the most frustrating sports game slider wise. Don't know what works, if anything actually works.. UGH

I think this update is very good. Perfect one timer is not so perfect anymore. In a good way.
I like PWHL. Respect. Best NHL game since 14.

You need the latest EA roster to be the active roster in the front end menu to get the latest uniforms while playing, including the PWHL uniforms,

I like the gameplay and also started PWHL season, it was fun.

But i think menu lag is even worse than before the patch. Its kind ruining this good hockey game. It gets worst more you play and after couple matches its wiser just to close game and start it again. It helps, but not as much before the patch.

OK, no longer cautiously pessimistic with the "swiss cheese" goal play... Have had two great games post title update... Tonight's game, CBJ/VAN may have been one of the better games I have had in a long time... 3-1 CBJ win, shots were 29 CBJ 28 VAN CBJ 1-4 on PP and VAN 0-4... Pass pct. CBJ 79.8 VAN 76.4. Hits were still outrageous, CBJ 16 VAN 44... I gave up a 3rd period SH goal, but Merzlikins had probably his best game of the year...

I am no longer fearing the swiss cheese goalies... I have had quite the opposite effect, I have seen better goal play in the two games since the update.

But like others, I am noticing a bit of menu lag...

i like the gameplay, i get good shot counts for each team, the only thing i don’t like is the high number of hits.

For all the years I’ve bashed EA, I’ve got to give them their props. This feels like a year that they’re adding a lot more content to the game and listening and updating things as the season progresses. I really like the addition of the PWHL, hopefully next year they’ll let us add more players and teams. Maybe we’ll get a team building system like the football games got this year too.

I hope we’ll be able to edit every team now too. All of the new leagues/national teams they’ve added and you still can’t edit them. Same goes for PWHL.

Hits were still outrageous, CBJ 16 VAN 44..

From looking at your sliders easy adjustments to get hits down for CPU, Hitting Power from to 12, Size and Speed Effect to 33 or 25.. Check Balance Rating Effect to 83.

You playing 7 min periods should easily see 20 to 25 hits a game for the CPU.

You still see big hits, guys getting knocked down etc.

It's not just a cosmetic stat, when playing 6 to 9 min periods you can get hit numbers in line with NHL Averages of around 44 combined hit a game. Anything higher than that, I can then agree it's a stat that you kind of have to ignore but can still be toned down.

No problem. You will figure out what works for you and your play style, but those are some things to tinker with.

Another thing that I can't say helps the CPU or not is Hitting Assistance.

I always have mine either at 0, 6 or 12. Never higher than 12 though. I'm always curious as if it makes hitting more difficult for the CPU even though it should have nothing to do with them.
