Yes. In my last 5 games I’ve lost Trocheck, Chytl, Zibanejad, Schneider, and Lafreniere. I get injuries happen but this seems excessive to me. I’m considering dropping to 45 to see if that cuts down a little.

The gameplay for me with PK's set it perfect so I don't want to just lower the minutes and add those changes in if it could break his set, y'know?

Honestly you should be fine IMO. You could make those adjustments and then play a few games and go from there. My rule of thumb is like 5 games or so and see where my averages are at compared to real life. Only stat I ignore is face offs.

One thing on his slider set is player speed 80/100 (hum/cpu). Sometimes that can factor in, but IMO changing that would change other aspects of his set up and not worth it if you like how it plays.

Just make those other adjustments and see how it goes.

I'm through 12 games now after lowering those and the period minutes, and gameplay/sim stats don't seem too affected.

There's a little less of that "chaotic and messy" feel, as in players aren't losing the puck as much from getting bumped, which makes sense for what sliders were lowered. It's noticeable but not bad, there's still enough mess and movement when bodies get together. There's also less penalties but that comes with lowering period length.

Hits are much better, albeit still a tad inflated. I'm mostly seeing splits in the 20's/30's or 30's/40's, but that's way better than the 50's/70's I was seeing before.

All in all if anyone else is using PK's set and wants lower hits, I think making Fiddy's changes does that without heavily impacting the way the set plays as a whole.

So I lowered human injuries from 50 to 45 and in 3 games I only saw 1 injury that only lasted through the current game. Thinking I’ll bump it up to 47 or 48 and see if that’s the sweet spot. Overall though the game is playing probably the best it’s been so far. The latest tuner from a few days ago seems to have straightened out the goalies as I’m not seeing the soft goals I was seeing last week.

Anyone else noticing that the gameplay isn't quite as smooth? As in the framerate is slightly fluctuating which it wasnt before the update? I'm on series x. Sure I didn't notice it in my last game but just playing in Detroit and I'm noticing it there?

Only thing that seems lagging to me are the menus. They seem a little clunky since the last patch. One thing I did notice is on breakaways the fake shot, backhand deke and forehand goal sequence has been taken away. Whenever I try making the last deke to the forehand my player just drifts into the goalie and loses the puck.

Passing Icons are back and the lag in the scouting menu is gone at least for me.

Seeing a lot of mixed reviews. Is this game worth the buy? Or are other versions in the series better (like NHL 24)?

I am usually very critical of the NHL series (hence my footnote), and I think this may be their best game to date...
If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.

You can lower the hit counts by adjusting the hitting sliders. I get 20-25 per team at most each game now.

I agree, the ai on both sides had noticeable improvements from NHL 24. Many subtle gameplay changes that are rarely mentioned if at all this year.

Better cpu d ai defensive pressure when entering the zone ( 50 aggression is overboard, I use 10/100 and still very good and balanced).

Cpu ai forecheck pressure, and using the right dump ins. It's not solely the flip dump, but also the quick dump around the boards. The flip dump is also stronger.

cpu ai offense is very creative and unpredictable especially if you edit their cycle/shoot to lean all the way to cycle. You give an opening they will aggressively attack the net, you bear down defensively they cycle. Dmen shoot the puck and score, a big improvement made in NHL 24 and still consistent now.

The big issue is the goaltending and I've created a thread on that (cheap goals due to unnecessary goalie movement). If they fix goaltending, it's a very good hockey game. And clearly better than NHL 20,23 and 24 which were my favorites.

We will have to give it another 2-3 years to see how this team cooks, as since it's a yearly release and a small dev team, there's only so much they can do unfortunately. But at least, it seems miles better than the Rammer era already with several big changes in updates this year alone, and we will see how they continue to iterate.

My biggest hope is making goalies just... better. I would like a stamina slider for goalies exclusively, as I don't like them being tied to the skater one which would heavily improve how they act (since goalies having lower stamina just makes them fall down fast). Being able to se it would mean way less desperation modes and more consistent goaltending imo.

And make the AI better, maybe one more difficulty tier above superstar. I don't like the "ai difficulty" slider since all it does it ignore your slider settings and make the AI ovechkin in shooting, so that usually says 0-1, but I'd like if the AI actually use hustle, are smarter on the powerplay, and stop playing like it's 5v5 on the pk....

The AI should crunch you in the zone as they just let you easily skate up for some reason, which would add a lot of difficulty as you need to dump and chase, and they need to do better on breakaways whatnot. They often will let you skate by and refuse to hustle or stickcheck. They have also not used hip check once in my playtime either.

One minor annoyance in the difficulty I found though is when they do the actual stick check (not pokechecks etc), they are extremely cheap. Like straight up inhuman speed stickechecks at certain things (like the faceoff where you push a guy and your winger goes to grab), INSTANT stickcheck and you lose the puck, and sometimes the stickcheck animation isn't even playing, they are one handed they touch your stick and it's a stickcheck sound lose the puck. That's probably the cheapest feeling part imo.

But overall, the AI is WAY better so they can easily improve from here. I would like boardplay AI to be a bit better, especially for the players as when the ai does it to you... your teammates just **** around still which is frustrating.

That and please, a PC release would be heavenly. Just thinking how people mod FCs gameplay means there can be so much room to change the game, and WAY easier roster editing too.
