No problem. You will figure out what works for you and your play style, but those are some things to tinker with.

Another thing that I can't say helps the CPU or not is Hitting Assistance.

I always have mine either at 0, 6 or 12. Never higher than 12 though. I'm always curious as if it makes hitting more difficult for the CPU even though it should have nothing to do with them.

I played a "play Now" with those settings you suggested, now granted, play now and Franchise with the same settings plays differently, but I saw an improvement with hitting numbers... I (CBJ) had 18 and Detroit at 29, so that was the lowest I had ever seen the computer have in a 7 min period game, so that is promising. but the score was absurd, CBJ 9 DRW 3... Saw a lot of soft goals that someone had mentioned in here earlier... But I will take it with a grain of salt, it was a play now game... But the hitting numbers looked promising...

But what is one thing I am learning Fiddy... CBJ and Pittsburgh fans can get along!!! LOL

Thats because a lot of your fan base were Pens fans first before the Jackets were born. LOL

Love going to games at Nationwide when they play, always a fun atmosphere.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I was a Red Wings fan (still am) before CBJ was ever a thought. I never lost allegiance, but because CBJ is only an hour north, it's just more convenient now than heading to Detroit... So I fully made the transition around 2005 after Stevie Y retired...

i was just experimenting after new update, i only adjusted penalty slider to 4, and used 7 minutes periods and i averaged about 2 to three penalties a period. I saw boarding, tripping holding and slashing. did they nerf the penalties some. i had penalties set on 50 for all. i also had that before patch and wasn’t seeing any.

I'm using A&S Slider set and I've noticed an increase in penalties as well over my past couple of games. (Penalty slider at 4 and then his penalty settings). It didn't even occur to me that it coincided with the patch.

Actually played the CBJ/WPG game last night in Franchise and was pleasantly surprised at the results just by making the few changes you recommended... CBj 16 hits WPG 20 hits.... The game score was 4-1 (same as the actual result) and unbelievably, KJ scored two goals like the real game... It sucked that my only GAA was an own goal.... I tried to pass it around the boards, but it morphed towards Merzlikins and in the net it went... But the results of the gameplay was great...

Yeah, I've done gone crazy over the years with slideritus and those ones always tend to help lower the hit totals and help with the flow of the game as well. It's not perfect, but it works for me and anyone that uses 6-9 min periods IMO. I can't stand seeing box scores all out of whack with 50 to 70 hits especially when you can control it very easily.

You using default 50??? I see injuries throughout the season, some big names, but I adjusted the majority of the NHL and AHL durability ratings based on their last three years injury rates... So I see my fair share, but I am OK with that because very rarely do NHL players play 82 nowadays unless your name is Ivan Proporov...

It made the game play even better... I know a lot say "this is just a roster upgrade to NHL 21, 22, 23, 24" but this is the best the game has played for me ever and I have played since inception on the Sega when it was NHLPA.... I liked the 2012-13 years on the PS3 because of the arena music customization, but while that was a very cool aspect to give a real feel arena atmosphere, the game never played as good as it is now...

EA if you are listening... DON'T MUCK IT UP!!! Leave the game tuning alone.... Roster and art updates are all that is needed because I am sure you aren't updating player photos...

From looking at your sliders easy adjustments to get hits down for CPU, Hitting Power from to 12, Size and Speed Effect to 33 or 25.. Check Balance Rating Effect to 83.



You playing 7 min periods should easily see 20 to 25 hits a game for the CPU.



You still see big hits, guys getting knocked down etc.



It's not just a cosmetic stat, when playing 6 to 9 min periods you can get hit numbers in line with NHL Averages of around 44 combined hit a game. Anything higher than that, I can then agree it's a stat that you kind of have to ignore but can still be toned down.

No I'm not. Using those adjustments on two different sets, one being my sliders I usually use and another basically a base default set. I get the same amount of hits on both sets with all that said. (6/7 Min periods as well)

First tab you will find all of EA's Default Sliders from years past as well as mine.

The NHL 25 Default slider set is the one other I was talking about but with the adjustments to hitting.

Second Tab you will find a lot of the OS Slider sets.

You think that taking those changes into PK's set would bork anything up? I'm fine just ignoring hits but if I can lower the game minutes and make those changes without screwing anything else up, I'd 100% do it.

The gameplay for me with PK's set it perfect so I don't want to just lower the minutes and add those changes in if it could break his set, y'know?
