    Re: Passing is horrible!

Also, one of my favorite tactics is when I make a pass through the neutral zone to a forward and I see another player streaking down ready to enter the zone. In order to keep his speed, I'll immediately "dump" (I'd say it's more a chip) the puck into the zone so he'll be flying in instead of having to slow up to make sure my player gets in before he does. I think people need to utilize the right analog stick more in every zone, not just to shoot when in the offensive zone. It does kind of suck that you can't use the shoot stick to dump in the offensive zone, but I just power up my passes to max power if I need to swing it around the boards hard.

This game's controls allow you to make extremely realistic decisions, in my opinion. One time passes, slap dumps, flip dumps, regular dumps. Not only does it look realistic, but it just feels very good to be able to do what the real NHL players do. Coming from the 2k series, this is refreshing to me. Not only does this game play the best hockey, it looks the best.

(Sorry for the triple post... posting from a limited text entry browser)

Okay, it looks like it's the one time passing mechanic that's messing you up (at least in your trying to switch to a D man before a shot is taken but being a bit late and the goalie passes it into his own net because you pressed the button a second late). I just don't like the auto switching in this game. If you've played FIFA, this can be a complete bitch, even when you have auto switching at 0 (NHL series doesn't have this option, though). Some of your concerns may also be to how your player is positioned too. Another FIFA thing, depending on your players position, the pass/shot/etc won't be as accurate or power as you want, but it's tough to tell if your player is positioned right at times.

They need a FIFA-like power meter. Right now it seems like there's the useless 2 MPH pass (tap), the regular speed pass (reg. press), and the super speed pass (hold).

Well internet gaming is more than one persons upload/download.
I have 100/100 but that doesn't mean online gaming is lag free for me either.

I've played games with US players while I'm in europe, and I'm not even close to having a 2 second delay when passing, even if I notice that the game isn't as fast running as playing offline (as with any game).

All I'm saying is that you're describing a problem that doesn't exist for me, and I believe many other as well. And the symptoms you're describing is those typical for some kind of lag.

Thank you EA - This game is officially better than sex
