I feel quite lucky compared to some of you guys as i've only had two games freeze on my since I picked the game up Thursday (both in online HUT games). I have though also had HUT freeze on me when trying to access the Trade Pile a few times and i'm getting a lot of mini freezes where the game locks up for between 3-10 seconds when accessing menus on the front end.

Are you kidding me? Thats ok for you cause you've had ONLY 2 freezes and a few mini freezes?????

I haven't had any freezes yet on my PS3. I'm about to put my custom music in. I'll report back after a few games.

Hmmmmm, seems to be totally random then.....going to be hard for EA to fix if they can't pin point the problem.....

Had my first freeze when tracking through all the new BAP standard faces. Froze around #110.

Just froze on me in gm mode. In my first year, first round of the playoffs, I was down 3 games to 1 to Calgary. Playing game five, in double OT tied 0-0, and it froze as I went to take a d-zone faceoff. FML.

Also froze on my in BAP, while selecting eye color.

Really discouraging knowing this could happen at any random moment...

Man this is really, really bad. I'm getting freezes every third game in BAP mode, and it's definitely software freezes and not my PS3, the ones that don't require a hard system reset. It also coincidentally always manages to freeze on my 4 or 5 point games, but not on the 12-2 shellacking I took due to a swiss cheese Juniors goalie, lol. I think the gameplay is great and the changes are all fantastic, BAP mode is much better than last year, but it makes me salty as hell that they managed to code in extra Verizon adds to throw at me during load screens, but weren't able to find the time to make a game that can play 4 straight games without freezing. I really hope this is something that can be fixed via patches.

I haven't even signed onto PSN since I got NHL12.

So does this mean that I shouldn't sign onto PSN until this problem is fixed? I've played 3 games and changed a few custom sounds and no freeze.
