This is awesome! I've been waiting for this ability, and adding these changes to the Revamped roster project only has me more excited to see these implemented. I think these will have ANA pretty well covered since I follow them closely, and I added one fairly obvious (IMO) choice from Boston.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Keep them coming. I will add everything that is suggested. If I've missed a player, or even given them a face you disagree with, just post a suggestion. It's a lot of work to do the entire league so I go with a quick "close enough" approach for players who aren't top-six fowards/top-four d-men, or guys I don't really know the look of. When people can make suggestions for their own team, it makes it a ton less time consuming for me, which means it will be finished faster.Comment

Honestly, if someone else wants to go that in depth, they're welcome to, but I'm far more concerned with getting players' appearances and attributes right and getting the roster to a playable state than I am with tweaking minute details like coaches and board advertisements. I mean, I agree the coaches are terrible, but they don't have any real coaches in the game and I'm not going to get caught up trying to match likenesses there when I could be doing so many other things (it's a pretty big project). If we get to add those details down the road, it will be great, but for now I'm not tracking down hidden cybers or tinkering with coaches and ice graphics. I'm just trying to get the rosters looking better.Comment

Will these numbers still apply to NHL13 mod or not?
Clarkson on your list is 10045 and on the NHL13 editor his HEAD ID is 10060.
So if I make his 10045 on NHL13, would I get the same head as you got in NHL14?Comment

Thanks for the suggestions. When I can't find a decent match I just go with "close enough" or "closer than EA got it".
In the end, I'd rather have the face be close and the wrong hair color than the face be horrendously wrong altogether, ya know?Comment

I don't know. I feel like the faces were in the same order in NHL 13, but I can't guarantee it and I can't guarantee that it's coded the same way. You'd have to check, by finding someone with face #1 in NHL 13 and seeing if their Head ID in the 13 editor is 10000. If so, the formula is the same, and it's just a matter of if all the faces are in the same order, which I think they are, but again, can't guarantee.Comment

What about coach faces? Don't know about NHL14, but NHL13 has 20 diff coach faces. If NHL14 is the same, maybe we can edit NHL teams too so their video game coach looks closer to their real life coach than the NHL default face?Comment

It's amazing how many default faces look strikingly similar to the actual player yet they aren't used. For example the one that you're using for Tuuka looks nearly spot on besides the shorter hair. But they use the same crap face year after year.Check out Lowlighthabit & CujoMatty's SOTS Packs

This is from NHL13, but seeing how the coaches in NHL video games are unchanged each year, I thought this would be good in helping. Here are the 20 coach faces in the game, so maybe we can try and assign each current NHL coach a number based on who he looks most like out of all these pics(since there's only 20,there'll obviously be some models used for more than 1 team)

Part of the reason I'm not going to waste my time with coaches is because few of those look like ANY coach in the NHL.
With the player faces, there's 180+ to choose from and it's still tough to find matches for some players. With 20 coaches, which seem to all be variations on like 3-4 different looks, it's going to be futile to really try and match them. Yeah, you could get a Claude Julien, a Mike Yeo, a Bruce Boudreau. But, no matter what, they're really going to just end up looking generic no matter what you do.Comment
