I was not expecting to win this game going in, but I was also not expecting the ice tilt to be dialed up to 11.

Really starting to lose patience because I’m not being rewarded at all for the time and effort I am putting in simply due to a silly coding mechanic making it nearly impossible to play defense.

I’m starting to realize why so many people sim all their franchise games.

It’s a new day and I may start a franchise with a decent team so I can win some games, or I may just continue to suck. LOL

Either way this game has its hooks in me and I’m determined to get better at it.

My best advice in defense is just stick to one player and don’t player switch. Play positional defense so you’re not always chasing the puck. Block shooting and passing lanes. Make them take shots outside of the slot. You’ll be fine brother.

Yeah man, when you're still finding your way try and use a better team if not the best one in the game so you can compete better.

I also saw your simming franchise game comment. I had to start to get back to this, too many games all end up the same or just don't feel right slider wise for 3 periods. It's an issue for the last couple of years, is what it is. If anyone don't experience that, I'm legit jealous bc this is frustrating for me. I just sim the first 2 periods and play the 3rd, much better variety and the sim stats are on point with the CPU games around the league (sliders have zero effect in sim games).

This right here, take his advice and don't switch on D until you gain possession.

Re: Armor & Sword's "Average Joe" Pro NHL 25 Sim Sliders (Season and Franchise Mode)

Appreciate all the advice! Been getting better on D, but a lot of the time it just feels like the puck doesn’t go my way. I’ll make a good play only for the puck to find its way to the player I just poked it from. Maybe that’s just the games way of programming better players versus lesser ones, but if that were the case it would make playing the games pointless.

                I will soldier on.

I started at pro and stunk and ended up going all the way down to rookie. I’ve slowly gotten better and went up to semi pro and now pro again. Sometimes learning at lower levels helps you get better and carries over so don’t be afraid to do the same. Plenty of videos out there to help you learn how to play too.

Played a game as the Knights. Hard fought until the CPU went Super Saiyan and scored two goals within seconds with just over two minutes left in the game. [emoji19]

I think something is going on with these sliders for me. They feel much more seasoned vet than average joe. LOL

I tried out a different set on Superstar and am 1-1 so far. Games feel a lot less sweaty and I’m not seeing nearly as much of the weirdness from the CPU as before. 🤷🏻*♂️

I can only speak for myself. I am absolutely an Average Joe on this game. My stick skills suck from a deke offensive point. I do however have sound defensive skills.

Defense is everything in this game. If you leave an man open they will make you pay. Always try to find your man when you are the highlighted defender. It is easy to get “ lost” because the action gets crazy at times. Happens to me a lot.
Do not always go for the body or poke check. Sometimes it’s just better to stay with your man.

This is what I’ve been trying to do more of. And I had my first shutout as a result last night. Felt really good.

                                Hey,

I have been teetering between Pro and AS on this game forever. I really like this game, displays a great product of the NHL. Just trying to lock in the sliders, and I have used yours for many other sports games. I tried these and like them, I may amp up the AI and such to 5 to make it a harder. Is that a good approach, or should I tinker elsewhere?

                                Thank you.
