Sorry, you pretend to be Mr. Respectful. But the little winky emoticony doesn't always explain away your attitude either. Don't make blanket statements like that and link me to it. I contribute quite a bit to OS. I'm sorry if it doesn't always jive with your world view. We're here to debate, discuss, critique and argue. I didn't say anything disrespectful to you. Don't be so damn sensitive.

I think everyone reads too much into all this marketing crap. Who cares honestly? When the game comes out, play it and judge from there. I don't give a rats what some PR guy says. All I care about is how the game plays when I get my mitts on it.Comment

If you don't care, then stop making excuses for 2k left and right. The fact is the game may be brillant this year but the way they have gone about marketing the game is downright awful. How anyone can dispute that is beyond me.Comment

All I have to ask is why. What is the purpose of this.Last edited by Eddie1967; 08-08-2009, 08:28 AM.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Exactly. I think 2k's marketing is fine, is there room for improvement? Sure, but it's not the doom and gloom others make it out to be IMHO.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Though you also need to take into account, regardless how good the game is compared to NHL 10 it's never going to sell more with the marketing 2k does...
A lot of those going to buy a hockey game don't go on forums like this for information, or put effort into searching the web for bits and pieces of information. The information they get comes from commercials, trailers, ads, ect... And based on that a whole lot more has been shown about NHL 10 then 2k10And its common sense the consumer will more likely purchase that which they know more about, the "household" name.

Re: 2k VP of Marketing Interview...(Video)
I love it, "the development team is so fanatical about the little things in hockey" One reason 2k has always been head and shoulders above EA IMHO. And he's right about it being a simulation of the sports although I would say it's the best simulation of hockey to date.
People always have a problem when I say that NHL 2K9 was the best simulation of any hockey game I have ever played but it's the truth. Simulation means having all of the little things you would see in an actual game and I think 2K does that very well.
2k does get a lot of the little things right...arenas are a perfect example. But 2k9's gameplay was far from an accurate representation of real hockey.Last edited by Flyermania; 08-08-2009, 01:03 PM."And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!"Comment
