Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
Idea or not, when they put that into their hockey game, it changed everything. 2k adopted it because it was innovative and what most gamers wanted 2k to change their scheme to.Comment

Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
oh boy, all I can is I am what I am. I have never liked the skill stick and I haven't played NHL 09 in quite some time, so that's why I asked. I'm not into all of this they stole it from that one and blah blah blah, if it works then that's all that matters. I also wasn't aware that 2k has added that for this year, which it sounds like you are saying.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Once again, great info, Cups. I'll still be waiting before buying this year, but definitely looking forward to seeing some gameplay footage.Comment

Right. And using the R stick to shoot and swing had been used in many games, including sports games, for years prior to that. Which was my point. Hardly innovative; simply a matter of time before it became the control scheme of choice in hockey games.Last edited by baa7; 08-15-2009, 09:58 PM.Comment

Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
I was speaking hockey games.. but I can't think of any sports games off the top of my head that used the R stick for swinging prior to NHL 07. It was innovative in the sports genre, although you might know games I just can't think of right now.Comment

Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
No I fully know that. I meant raw footage from the team themselves to go along with these Dev Insight posts. If Littman can go out of his way to do it why can't Cups or Bish or Shadow or whoever make the extra effort to do the same thing? Its not the end of the world obviously, but it would be a pretty nice gesture.Comment

Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
NHL Hitz Pro had it. NHL 2K6 had it with a modifier. That doesn't mean they were implemented as well, but the idea had been used for sure.Comment

Re: NHL Developer Insights: NHL 2K10 Improved AI
Hey Cup, question for ya if you don't mind. During a game if a player is injured do they still play for the rest of the game before going on the disabled list? Are CPU controled teams better with roster management?Comment

And both MVP and MLB 2K had a swing stick in 06. Plus the R-stick was a staple in golf games in years previous to that.Comment
