So it ends for my beloved Wings...
Congrats to the Sharks. They won every 1-goal game (including an OT comeback win in D-town that basically ended the series); that shows grit, determination, and championship mettle. Their best players played their best hockey all series long, and Nabokov was good when he had to be - especially tonight. Sparkling goaltending from Evgeni in the clincher.
Back to the drawing board for Kenny Holland and Co...I hope we haven't seen the last of St. Nick - he still has love to give to the Wings (but hopefully he won't need to be called on for 23 minutes a game in the future).
Next up on the tee at Oakland Hills...Lidstrom foursome.Comment

What are you talking about? Did you even watch the game? Howard played well tonight and was the only reason the game was still 0-0 at the end of the first.
Do you have some kind of personal vendetta against Howard or something because it sure seem like it.
Howard will only get better now that he has some playoff experience.
I still can't believe that play on Franzen wasn't called. What is the point of implementing rules against blindside head shots if you don't enforce it? Douglass Murray is piece of garbage as well, he was nothing but an unskilled goon all series. Wings obviously were at fault in terms of losing the face off and turning it over, but that face off should had never happened in the defensive zone if that penalty was called.
Anyways congrats to the Sharks for playing well and doing the things necessary to win the series. Can't say I particularly care for some of the things they did during the series between the diving and the two dirty plays tonight though.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-08-2010, 11:55 PM.My Teams

There's no definitive way to tell of course, but it might be safe to say that the most popular hockey "hotbeds" are the places that have the highest totals of players. According to last year's USA Hockey report of registered players Minnesota, Michigan, and New York have the highest tallies of registered players....in that order. Totals are on page 10 of this report.

Wow what a series for Thornton. He now has 11 points after just having about 3 before the series started. Marleau came up big too. But when Joe plays physical the Sharks are tough to beat. Nabby played great too. You are right Pys, for the Wings to come back from that lead they had to be playing light out every game. I love Dats he is incredible with the puck.Comment
