Philly beating Chicago would be one of the three greatest Stanley Cup Final upsets (contenders being NJ over DET in '95, NYI over PHI in '80) in the post-expansion NHL. Considering the Flyers finished 18th in the regular season standings, their goalie carousel, and the 0-3 comeback, it's safe to say a Cup victory would be the greatest underdog playoff run in the history of North American pro sports. That's pretty cool.

Yeah, I agree. San Jose's best chances were in 2004 and 2006.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Yeah, though I don't judge the magnitude of upsets based strictly on point differential. For example, I don't believe that Habs over Caps (33 point differential) was a "bigger" upset than Sharks over Wings in 1994 (18 point differential) or even Habs over Penguins this year. To me, the greatest upset of all time was Islanders over Pittsburgh in 1993.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Big night tonight. Probably one of the biggest, sports-wise, for me since I seriously starting following. I was just 7 when the Flyers last made the Cup Finals. Hope we can pull it off tonight, I don't even want the Habs to sniff a comeback.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Only in Hockey will you see a player lose 7 teeth and than come back and play. Congrats to the Hawks.
3 years in a row now (assuming the Flyers beat the Habs), the NHL will get "big market/name brand" teams in the Cup Final.Comment

They're getting "big market/name brand" teams anyway.
Last I checked though, the Habs are bigger than the Flyers.Comment
