It's two points. Not the Stanley Cup. I wouldn't want the Pens doing that after a regular season win (and they don't). You need to know how to handle wins and losses to stay consistent, and it doesn't seem like the Caps know how to do either.

How many freaking times do I have to say this? The Caps are an emotional team that rides high and shows their exuberance, its one of the reasons that makes them such a great sell. I'm sick of people acting like being genuinely HAPPY AND EXCITED after a BIG WIN is some cardinal sin. GOD FORBID a hockey team shows some excitement. What jerks! They'll never win because they get too happy when they win games!! They should've been more like the Pens and just sulked off the ice.

Unbelievable. Remember when Sidney scored in Buffalo? He went nuts. I guess that was ok, though, right? Funny how your memory just completely blacks that out. Hell, Malkin jumped into the bench after his FIRST PERIOD GOAL. But nah, nah, that was OK, because he had a Pens jersey on.

Yesterday's game was NOT just two points. You can tell yourself it was only 2 points all you want but you know you'd be going crazy if the Pens won and gloating. The players and coaches all admitted it was more than just two points.

Also when he won the gold medal. Come on Sid act like you been there. As a fan of neither teams. I see Sid as baby and AO as an ***. But that is just me.

And for the record, it appears the NHL did very well in the 18-49 demographic (the most important one) last night. Highest ratings in years. Glad to hear it.

I think showing passion like that is good after you win not as you score a first period goal. But I promise if the Pens won and did that you would be defending them.

No doubt. Serious sour grapes coming from the Pens fans.

You're right, Crosby did celebrate when he scored the GW goal in Buffalo. But that's a lot different than celebrating like you won the Stanley Cup when actually you made the score 3-1.

Finally, it was JUST 2 POINTS. That's ALL the Caps got for winning the game. You can tell yourself it was more than it actually was, but no one is going to care who won come playoff time.

And Scott, please don't compare a regular season game to a Gold Medal game. Two COMPLETELY different levels

Does their excitement have anything to do with their failures? Not a damn thing. Their losses have been because of poor play, not because they get too excited when they score.

How many regular season games have a 4 week miniseries promoting it? This isnt a Stanley Cup win or a playoff win....but its not just "2 points". This was a heavily promoted hockey game and was probably watched by more people than will watch any other hockey game other than the Cup Finals.

Also, the Pens looked pretty damn excited when they won the game in DC last week.

Also, the Pens looked pretty damn excited when they won the game in DC last week.

I don't disagree that it was a big game for the NHL in general, but for the Caps and Pens it was just a regular season game. Nothing more than 2 points.

And not as excited as the Caps were when they scored their third goal last night

as for Sid in Buffalo.. SO winner, big difference. also, there was no goalie jumping up and down dancing, gloating with 6 seconds left throwing hands in the air etc.

Pens are a class act of an organization, the Caps Mickey Mouse from Top to Bottom!! it shows, take a look at their track record.

Fiddy you are a pens fan so you see know wrong they do. Find some quotes of them winning the first one. Sid is baby but he is only 22. When he gets 25 he will change. He is getting better at the whining though. So I think each year he will mature more. The WC is bigger than a regular game. The hype around it makes it that way. The bottom line is the Pens got handle and the Caps were the better team.
