Rangers have looked good these past 2 games....never get my hopes up with this team, but if we can get gabby back it look like we may have some other lines who can contribute offensively.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

Niemi has been terrible all season, but history has shown Niittymaki can't handle the full-time starter responsbility. Same old, same old for San Jose--- they will make the playoffs but won't go anywhere."And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!"Comment

And yet they went the final last year. This is the year they get the cup.Comment

Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
Yes it is. Populations have grown in every city where there's an NHL team and ratings reflect it as well. CBC has been breaking records for playoff ratings the last few years. So I would say 'yes' that hockey is more popular now than it's ever been.I meant more fan/media reaction. Bench-clearing brawls were commonplace when I was a teenager, and players/coaches going into the stands happened once or twice a season, without all this "Won't somebody please think of the children?!?" nonsense. It seems the sports media and internet fans are always "outraged" by anything and everything these days.
And is hockey really more popular in the US today than it was in the late 70s?
Just look at the boom in California hockey lately. More and more kids are coming out of that state and the WHL has been picking more and more kids from Cali.
I think people were just as outraged back in the day too. If we had Twitter, Facebook, CNN and iPads, you'd see just as many people spouting off about anything and everything.
The more things change, the more things stay the same.Last edited by Money99; 10-25-2010, 02:40 PM.Comment

Craig Anderson hurt during warm-up so Budaj in net. 1-1 game after Avs just gave the puck away to the Sedins.
Edit: Anderson didn't put any pressure on his right leg, doesn't look good. Looks like they have to call up John Grahame from AHL.Last edited by Kobalt; 10-26-2010, 10:05 PM.Comment
