Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
Didn't Bolland have back surgery last year and missed a ton of games?
And Real, yeah Thomas has been such a beast. He's hot and he's a happy camper. Rask will win some games, but this is Thomas' team at the moment.
I've watched a lot of Bruins games and Seguin belongs for sure. He's a rookie, but he's got poise and a good head. He'll be fine.
Flames blow another lead and get hammered in the 2nd period by the Caps. Ovie, Green, Backstrom, and Semin put on a clinicComment

Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
Milbury has said more than once that Seguin won't be an impact player this year. The kid already has imo. As has Caron and Seidenberg with the amount of shots he's blocking. I think he's blocked like 12 shots over the last 2 games.
Its early still obviously but this feels like a very different Bruins team from 09/10. Different in that there seems to be one hell of a chemistry going on this early and its very awesome to watch.Comment

Good to see Chicago bounce back yesterday with a win on the road. There's still so much room for improvement but I'll take the win after that debacle against Edmonton.

The question for me now, is where does Savard and Sturm fit? Obviously both are invaluable to the team, but who do you break up to work them back? Sturm, I suppose, is easier to fit back in, replacing Caron, but once Savard gets healthy, that can throw a pretty big wrench into our line combos, especially since Seguin is staying.Milbury has said more than once that Seguin won't be an impact player this year. Yeah they are. Darryl Sutter has ruined this team. Where do you start?
1. They have no high end prospects in their system. Other than Backlund, who isn't elite, they don't have anyone that's going to be an impact player coming up
2. They've given up too many draft picks. Sutter when he was trying to win, traded a lot of the Flames' high end picks for rental players....Jokinen was a bust, Brad Stuart was a rental etc etc.
3. Poor trades by management. Sutter has made some boneheaded deals. He's somehow made a bad salary cap situation even worse by adding Staios and Kotalik.Comment

Yeah he did. To me, the Hawks will be better. Toews and Kane are slowly getting better and Hossa's thankfully only gone a couple of weeks at most. Campbell being back soon will be a boost..Comment

Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
Very good question Lanteri, I would hope Claude keeps Lucic, Horton, and Krejci together as that line has imo been the best line on the ice points wise. I could see them sitting Caron due to him being a rookie (though I love the kid) or Ryder/Wheeler. I do have to give Ryder a bit of credit as his effort on the forecheck in the Toronto game, led to Seguin's goal, and he's actually not taking off every shift this year like he did last year. Then again its a contract year for him so the fact he's actually trying isn't all the surprising. The question for me now, is where does Savard and Sturm fit? I doubt he splits up the 4th line either though I guess he could chose to sit Marchant and bump someone down a line. Again would hate to see it happen because that line's really been great for energy and getting the momentum going in Boston's favor.Comment

It sucks because I like the Sutter's and they're style, but obviously Daryl's style is now running Cup contending teams into the ground with terrible contracts and players.Yeah they are. Darryl Sutter has ruined this team. Where do you start?

Both Sutter brothers will be out of Calgary by the trade deadline I think. Who knows, Iginla might even get dealt (to Toronto please!).Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Agreed. I never thought I'd look forward to a Campbell return as much as I am now."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Yeah at this rate. I like Brent Sutter as a coach too, but the team for whatever reason doesn't play consistently....This has been an issue for the last 5 yearsIt sucks because I like the Sutter's and they're style, but obviously Daryl's style is now running Cup contending teams into the ground with terrible contracts and players.

When they play well and in the system, they are a tough tough team to beat. When they're bad, they're awful. Regardless of coaches, this team continues to play wildly inconsistent hockey and my friends who are Flames fans get so peeved.
At this point, it's not a coaching thing - it's a leadership issue. Iginla, Regehr, Bouwmeester and co. need to take some responsibility. Flames fans can laugh at Edmonton all they want, but the reality is that the Oilers have some talent coming through....The Flames - zilchoComment

Re: The Official 2010-11 Regular Season Talk Thread
I'm really looking forward to the Blues game this Saturday when they will face Thomas. For some reason, I've always liked the guy. But this is a pretty unreal start. How unbelievable has Tim Thomas been so far? 6-0-0, 3 shutouts, and .50 GAA. I know its early but man, he's been a wall so far. So very awesome to also see Seguin having an impact (contrary to what Mike Milbury thinks) and Caron being both extremely solid players able to compete at the NHL level.
the Blues are not piling up goals, so their only real shot is for Halak to have one of his on nights. It could just be a brutal 2-1 type game.Comment
