lol at Underwood crying. I've been trying to find out the name of her hot friend without any luck.
Congrats to the Preds on a tough series. I was impressed with how hard they played and they have great fans.
A part of me can't believe we are in the final 4. I've followed the Canucks for almost 30 years so I'm use to losing.
I'm hoping the Sharks beat the Wings tommorow. I would rather face the Sharks than the Wings (although both teams scare me).
Yeah I have a feeling someone will throw big money his way, but I can't see the Preds letting him get away.Last edited by IlliniM1ke; 05-09-2011, 10:21 PM.Favorite Teams:

What a bizarre, unconvincing run to the Conference Final. Still, beggars can't be choosers. And Canuck fans are most definitely beggars.
Congrats to the Preds fans on their team's grit and their general classiness on these boards.
As to the optimal opponent, that's a tough one. Detroit is scarier than San Jose because of their experience and mental toughness (and Datsyuk), yet wear-and-tear and fatigue are the Wings' traditional enemies. The emotional high of coming back against the Sharks would likely be offset by the energy expended to do so, especially since they'd be looking at no rest and even more West Coast travel. Tough call. Regardless, all of the Canucks wearing jerseys other than #17 will need to substantially raise their game to advance.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Side note: EA's playoff sim is now 11-0! I guess the Canucks will be playing Detroit after all.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Oh well, can't complain about the effort. I hate that the refs were so whistle happy because we're not all that great on the PP or PK, but that's the way the game goes sometimes. I have to admit that I've developed a soft spot for the Canucks over the course of this series, which is odd considering they beat us.
As for the offseason... I'll have to look at the cap and contract situation first, but I think our main casualties are going to be the "value" players like Ward. Hopefully the Preds will find a way to keep Weber. He's basically the face of the franchise.Comment

Ryan Clowe will be out for game 6 with "flu like symptoms". So yeah, I guess it is possible to knock the flu into somebody. This is a huge hit for the Sharks.
And J.R. wants Patrick Marleau to visit the Wizard of Oz, calling out his "gutless perfomance". It looks to be an interesting end to this series.Comment

When I heard Roenick mention the gutless thing after the game, I was like
He's been very entertaining to me in these intermission/post game stuff, but for all the wrong reasons. It's like a meth'ed up version of Charles Barkley.Comment

While I don't agree with Roenick going after Marleau like that (especially considering JR finished his career with the Sharks...), he's not exactly wrong. Marleau's been a ghost the entire series, and Datsyuk humiliated him the other night.Comment

. What comes to anyone's mind when the names "Sharks" and "playoffs" are mentioned? I like how JR had the nuts to call somebody out.
And humiliated is an understatement. It was like Dats wanted to show Marleau how playoff hockey, so he took him to school. I look at a guy like Douglas Murray, who I hate on during the regular season, and that guy totally stepped up his game for the playoffs. There is no excuse for Marleau to be playing like that. An injury maybe? Still no excuse. Isn't Datsyuk injured? He doesn't seem to have excuses.

I agree with you guys that it was pretty stunning to see Roenick lay into Marleau, and while he hasn't had a very good series, I didn't see the need to pound him into the ground like that. I wouldn't say the Sharks have lost the last 2 games because of Marleau (although he certainly hasn't helped the cause). Look, the Sharks are still in good shape, and I don't think anyone would be surprised if they came to Detroit and closed us out tonight. I'm just happy that the Wings didn't lay down like the Lakers when they had every reason to down 3-1 in the 3rd Sunday evening. At least they've showed some heart.
Also, if we get closed out tonight and St. Nick subsequently retires, at least he'll have played his last game at the Joe. He deserves to go out with a 20-minute standing O (although I hope he doesn't retire...).Comment

Wow... Detroit sure is bringing the heat early in this game. Nothing to show for it yet, but they've sure showed up tonight. Why do I have this strange feeling that the Sharks are gonna lose this series?STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS
