Still recovering from the 'Nucks thriller last night...I was gonna post on here that if Vancouver tries to win a game 1-0, they're asking for trouble, but I didn't wanna jinx anyone. Then as soon as Toews scored, I was 99% sure Chicago was gonna win in OT (but again, didn't want to send any bad ju-ju toward anyone). To see Vancouver exorcise those demons is one for the ages, first round or not.

As a side note, I wonder what percentage of teams win when they successfully kill off a penalty in OT (and how long afterwards it takes for them to win)? Doesn't it seem like whenever a team is on a PP in OT and they don't convert, the other team always seems to come right back and score right away? Not just the last few nights, but going back many years, it seems to happen quite frequently...

What are you talking about? The Wings played the best hockey of any team in the first round without Zetterberg, meanwhile the Sharks struggled at times in their series. Think this one will probably go six or seven, not sure who will win, but predicting a Sharks' sweep is asinine given the rest the Wings will have going in and the way they played in the first round. In fact if the Wings play how they did in the first round, I don't see the Sharks winning the series, let alone sweeping it.

It's a way for me to keep expectations low or non-existent. Can't be disappointed if I expect to be swept

No, but you gotta have some faith in the boys...if they stay healthy and can continue to play at the level they showed in round 1, there's no reason to think we can't skate for the Cup in June. We at least have as good a chance as any other team left in the field. The defense and goaltending are still question marks, but when they are playing well, it's a thing of beauty.

In fairness the Sharks did win the season series 3-1 but 2/3 were close.

That said, for reasons of national pride i'll be cheering for Vancouver. (and Montreal)

I can only cheer for one because we'd NEVER,EVER,EVER hear the end of it if both made the finals. As I'm a Red Wings fan it'll be Montreal but if it did come down to both it'd be Vancouver since they haven't won.

So how many combined OTs tonight!? I'll say 3.

I think Boston/Montreal goes to OT again tonight, but Pitt/Tampa doesn't.

Montreal/Boston will definitely go to OT. I have a feeling whoever wins the Tampa/Pit game will win relatively comfortably (2 goal differential)

Excellent job by the B's killing that penalty, only allowed 1 shot I believe.

Now their power play has to step up (0 for 19 this series) after that high sticking against Montreal.

Edit: Make it 0 for 20
