Just like that the Canucks go from down 2-1 to up 3-2, when they play to their potential they are scary, and if that goal can wake the twins up the Sharks could be in for a world of hurt.

New to hockey and this is the type of game I like. The other series opener wasn't entertaining to me as a newcomer.

Do these guys have a long rivalry or what?

First time they've ever met in the playoffs, as far as regular season goes they've both been among the best teams in the western conference the past few years, not sure how much bad blood there is between them though but I'm sure DrJones or Scott could fill us in some on that aspect of the series.

Great matchup though and I look forward to watching the rest of it.

av7, Yeah, the two teams are seeded 1 and 2 so this is the best matchup of the West (on paper)... Both teams are trying to overcome past playoff failures (coming off of really solid seasons).

I think it'll be a close battle throughout, so it's the one I'm most interested in! Check the avatar.

I'm convinced that the winner of this series will win the Cup in the end.

No, no rivalry at all just two amazingly talented teams that so desperatley need this for their franchise. and of course the west is the best IMO

Playing behind Chicago and now San Jose doesn't hurt. But Niemi has earned his keep in net, so maybe he's the reason why the teams are making it so deep.

The Sharks could definitely use a Cup appearance, at the very least... But why would the Red Wings be desperate?
If anything, they're one of the franchises that would be best equipped to sustain playoff failure.
