Solid game between the Sabres and the Penguins. Nice bounce back win for Buffalo who lost a crappy game last night. Gotta be good for confidence to go on the road against a Cup contender after a tough loss and come away with a win. No Crosby or Malkin, but tough nonetheless.

Tonight's slate of games...ugh, makes me wish I had 200 bucks to buy Center Ice. Having every game at my disposal really is amazing. This preview rocks.

Solid comeback by the Wings to move to 4-0.

RNH with a hat trick? Silly me thinking he wasn't NHL ready.

1-2-2 start on the five game opening road trip for the Lightning, with four consecutive losses. Really disappointed to lose to very beatable teams in the Islanders and Panthers.

Hopefully they can get things together at home, against a still very beatable Florida Panthers team.

Maybe the problem is that the season is all of 10 days old? People may not recall that Vancouver wasn't in the West's top 8 on Oct. 31 last year. Or the year before that. Or the year before that. If the Canucks are 10th or 11th in the conference at say, the All-Star break, then it's time to point fingers. It's not the regular season that concerns me.

Awesome game the other night my Panthers doing in the hated Lightning!! Theodore stepped up big in the net, loved his waving off of Stamkos after his weak try in the shootout.

Probably a good idea not to get too high or too low early on. The Sabres were absolutely terrendous until like, January 1st last season.

Sports fans are so irrational sometimes, lol. I'm guilty of it myself too but it's a long, long season.

Went to the Jets-Yotes game last night, surprisingly there were only about 3-4K Jets fans, I was kind of expecting half the arena to be Peggers. Winnipeg looked pretty bad. The Yotes completely dominated that game. I saw Atlanta @ Phoenix last year and they looked a hell of a lot better. I thought they should've kept Ramsey, although I'm not sure the new coach is their problem. Mason is not very good though, I was hoping to see Pavelec.

Kessel for Seguin & Hamilton hasn't been that bad for Toronto as many people think.

Just caught the end of the Jets/Penguins game...man that arena is loud as hell. Glad to see them finally get a W.

Man, Roloson is sucking so bad to start this year! Another loss for the Lightning, freaking five losses in a row for the first time with Guy Boucher (who is awesome). Giving up 11 goals to the freaking Panthers in two games, I love Roloson and he was great in the playoffs last year but he needs to step up tremendously if this team can live up to any of the expectations after such a great run last year.

On the plus side, the offense responded well last night with Vinny and Stamkos both making big goals to put us back in the game, still though the horrible goal keeping effectively ended any chances to win. Very frustrating start to the season, we've got the Islanders on Thursday and they blasted as too a couple of days ago.. definitely would be a good spot to turn things around.

Also, weird fact: On a team with Steven Stamkos, Vinnie LeCavalier, and Martin St. Louis the leader in points at the moment is Marc-Andre Bergeron (2 G, 6 A) with 8, 3 of which came last night on assists. His point total all of last year? 8.

EDIT: Also, don't even get me started on penalties and power play defense this season. SMH

Not really feeling that Letang suspension. I felt like the Winnipeg player put himself in a position to be hit with the turn he made at the end. Oh well. Going to be without Orpik, Letang, Malkin, Crosby, and Kennedy tonight. **** this.

Can totally see your beef. That check was pretty commonplace the last few years. But these are the new, strict rules.

As they say in the videos, "the onus is on the defender." Letang can shove there, but because he took the player hard into the boards, it made it look bad. I think he probably would've gotten off without a suspension or fine if he just shoved him lightly instead of riding him into the boards.

It's a complete change of mentality. Yeah, players are going to have to ease up. Unfortunately, that's necessary in order to keep these players alive!
