That sucked, congrats to Canucks for winning the NW division.
Avs really needed that extra point, but they didn't fight hard enough after getting that 2-0 lead.

Was that Barrie or Olver that got totally outmuscled on the boards which led to the game-winning goal by Vancouver?

Avs need to win their last 5 to get in the playoffs, I feel.

Barrie, it's a shame because he played a great game until the last play.

Lack of talent? We might not be the Bruins, Canucks, Penguins, etc, but there's a lot of talent to build around with this team. Byfuglien, Enstrom, Bogosian, Kane, Burmistrov, Pavelec, Wheeler, Little, the list goes on. With the exception of Enstrom and Byfuglien, all of those guys are 25 or younger and getting better. If we miss the playoffs this year, so be it, but I wouldn't consider it a failure. This is a fresh start under new management and the team is going to be allowed to develop naturally, which is how it should be.

And better fans have made up for any "lack of talent" there may be. Have you not seen how the Jets play at home? Have you not seen that they have 23 of their 35 wins at home? Plenty of Jets players have commented throughout the season how much better it is to be playing here than a dead hockey market like Atlanta and their play at home clearly shows that.
I'm a big fan of Burmistrov, I see a little bit of Datsyuk in him. Love Kane on the ice, though there's rumblings that he's an a-hole outside the ice though.

That's what I thought. Definitely a situation where it would've helped to have had Erik Johnson in uniform.

I thought Barrie played real well last night, as you said, aside from that last play. He took a big hit but came back and contributed. I really like him at the point on the power play. It seems the PP has been flow when he's in the game.

Congrats to Columbus, they are now getting #1 or #2 pick in the entry draft.

Wouldn't surprise me if Alex Pietrangelo and Oliver Ekman-Larsson are the top 2 defenseman in the league in couple years. I think they're like 21~22 and they're already great and only going to get better.

Tons of really skilled defensemen either around or under 25 all over the league now. Karlsson, Pietrangelo, Ekman-Larsson, Edler, Doughty, Shattenkirk, Yandle, Erik Johnson, Subban, Letang, Del Zotto, Fowler, Myers, Schenn, Hedman, Bogosian...

Brendan Smith would belong in that category as a homer pick if he was given the chance, but the Red Wings bring their prospects along slower than any team in the league.

And that's not even including guys like Adam Larsson who haven't even begun to scratch the surface.

Yea Smith is going to be good, impressed with him from what I've seen little bit this year. I also like Josi from Nashville and Kulikov from Florida. Then again I like a lot of guys from Panthers.

Not a fan of Doughty at all, he looks terrible at times on his own zone. It's not like he's lazy, he's trying really hard but just suck at times.

Hey guys, 2 questions about NHL Gamecenter Live:

                      1) Does it have archived games?

                      2) Is there a special playoff package when that time rolls around?

I ask because I'm considering getting it for the Blues playoff run, but it really needs to have archives to be worth my while (I miss a lot of games because I work nights, so I may miss the games on FSMW live). I looked at the price tag for this point in the season, and $80 is more than I want to spend for this.

I assume in-market games are blacked out anyway, just like MLB.TV? If it does have archives, how long does it take before the games become available?

                      Thanks!

In-market games are blacked out on Gamecenter.

You have to wait to watch in-market games like 48 hours after they air or something like that.

I don't have it myself, but a friend of mine does who follows the Predators from New Mexico.

I love the app. i got it so I could watch games on my iPad (very nice BTW). I love watching a variety of games anyway so it works for me. I got mine in January so it's been worth it for me. Not sure if it's worth $80 now though

According to advanced metrics, Pietrangelo should have been a Norris candidate last year (along with Lidstrom and Lubomir Visnovsky). Although Pietrangelo is 22 and OEL is 20.

I think Smith could already be a top 4 guy on a lot of teams. I've been impressed with him. Last time I was this impressed with a Wings prospect was when Leino made a short appearance in 2009 (although he lost my favor by sucking for us in 2010...).

I bought it back in January for ~$120 or so. Have definitely got my money's worth out of it. I've used it on my phone (Android), PC at work, PS3 at home, and wife's iPad a couple of times. The stream quality seems on par with Netflix, maybe a tad more choppy. The archives are also nice... pretty much every game from the past 2-3 years.

But if you mainly just want to watch tape delayed games that are broadcast locally, you'd probably be better off using a DVR. Gamecenter quality isn't on the same level as an HD cable/satellite feed.

I'm curious how the Norris voting goes this year. Does Weber win because he's "due"? Surely Karlsson and Pietrangelo finish no lower than 3rd & 4th?

On an unrelated note, does anyone know if NBCSN has a late-season flex policy? Tomorrow's Sabres/Caps game sounds a wee bit more interesting to me than Lightning/Bruins.
