You know what would be awesome? Heatley stepping up with all these injuries with SOMETHING, ANYTHING! Unfortunately, he's made a career out of ghosting when you need to rely on him.

Iginla again kills the Wild. People call it a 5 game losing streak, but 2 of them are shootouts, so I refuse to call it that, lol.

I was talking about that earlier with my roommate. I have been VERY underwhelmed by Heatley this year. He NEVER seems to bury it when he gets the puck in space.

Brought him here to be a sniper and he has been FAR from it.

Heatley has always been a floater but it looks like the disappearing act is now spreading over to the regular season.

Hopefully he picks it up.

Hopefully he picks it up.

Not only that, but even back when he was in Ottawa people recognized that most of his goals came when the game was already decided.

I think the Snyder accident really messed him up. I remember watching him play as a Thrasher and he was incredible. He never seemed to take a shift off and he made something happen on every shift.
But on that team, he had nobody to carry the puck and do all the work for him. Kovy was there, but it seemed Heatley did the dirty work to help Kovy.
Then he played with Spezza and Thornton, so maybe he got lazy when he had someone else to do all the lugging?

Regardless, he's a complete floater now who can't be counted on to score when the team needs him most.
What a waste of talent and salary.

The funny thing is the alternative was Marty Havlat....so....yeah. The Wild have actually come out ahead! At least Heatley did have a nice little hot streak at one point.

On the bright side, he does work himself into 2-3 quality scoring chances a game and leads the team in shots. Unfortunately, he always tries to go five hole and shoots it into the goalies pads time and time again.
