Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
The Wild will continue to be mediocre as long as their leading scorer list continues to look like this:
2010-2011: Martin Havlat, 22
2009-2010: Andrew Brunette/Guillaume Latendresse 25
2008-2009: Owen Nolan 25
Right now, Dany Heatley is on pace to lead the team with 24. There is and has been a void of scoring talent on this team since Gaborik left town. There is no one you can count on outside of flashes from Koivu that a guy will put the team on their back and carry the scoring load. When you watch the Wild go forward on offense compared to the top teams, it's like watching two different sports.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 01-01-2012, 04:54 PM.Comment

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
I disagree strongly with this. Early in the season, the Wild were getting outshot and scoring about 2.5 goals/game, and they had the most points in the NHL. Backstrom was a huge part of that.

He's top 5 in the league for goalie salary, I believe? He definitely isn't a top 5 goalie in the NHL.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

The classic tomorrow has been bumped to 3pm.
Kinda works out, I can watch the bowl games early, then switch back n forth with hockey after a couple hours, then watch the 3rd period exclusively, then go to the 2nd round of bowl games already in progress.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Pumped to see my Flyers in the Winter Classic again... this time in Philly!
Won't be making the ride up to Philly but we'll have a fire going and see these guys play hockey how it was meant to be. It'll be nice.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Don't let Milbury get on the ice with those 10 year olds. He might try to beat one up.
Also, that Flyers jersey is amazing. They need to make that an alternate.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
EDIT: I shouldn't say always, because there have only been 5 WCs. But other than Ralph Wilson Stadium and Heinz Field, it was played at Wrigley, Fenway, and now Citizen's Bank Park. Also, if I had to predict where it is next year, I'd say Yankee Stadium or Comerica Park.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 01-02-2012, 04:29 PM.Boston Red Sox

Re: The Official 2011-12 Regular Season Talk Thread
If I could get a ticket, which would be nearly impossible because that state would gobble them up in a matter of minutes, I'd have to consider making the trek to Target Field if the Wild got one of these once.
This is awesome.

Between this, the games they play in Canada, all the college games they've done, and the HS games they play on Baudette Bay on Lake of the Woods, the whole outdoor novelty is lost on me at this point.
Dayman, too bad hockey wasn't on your radar when they played a game at Lambeau...Last edited by ImTellinTim; 01-02-2012, 04:45 PM.Comment
