BTW, that was the first regular season 8-point night since Mario's immortal "5 goals, 5 ways" game against the Devils on New Year's Eve 1988. I distinctly remember watching the only two 8-point playoff games in history, both during Patrick Division Finals: Patrik Sundstrom against the Caps in '88, Mario (again) against the Flyers in '89. I'm old.

I'm not sure what Q is thinking by dressing Scott and having him play 5 or 6 minutes. Keith and Seabrook are playing way too much. They played almost 27 minutes each last night.

Crawford did his best Huet(shudders) impersonation last night.

The last 2 games against Edmonton.

        Sam Gagner? What the hell?

The Oilers should just try to trade him today.

Any specific reason the Flyers and Rangers are so good on the road?

It gives you a good idea of just how big the rest of the equipment is as the size of the pants don't seem to stand out that much when you see an NHL goalie in full gear.

                Yup. Pretty disgusting.
I just about fell off my chair the first time I saw Ryan Miller out of his gear. My wrists are thicker than his calves. Erkel looks like he has more meat on him and yet when fully dressed, he looks like a 250lb behemoth.

Outlaw the composite sticks and force goalies to wear equipment the same size as Ken Dryden wore:

I didn't realize Kovalchuk has 21 goals on the year. Seems like he's flying under the radar lol.

Good first period for Colorado ... had a David Jones sighting! That was a great pass to set him up for the PP goal. Landeskog banged one off the post early, too.

Hopefully they keep the intensity up.

I hated the fact that Sacco made him a healthy scratch Thursday. It was nice to see him back.

Yeah, he should NEVER be a healthy scratch over Kevin Porter. I know he was slumping, but still, I'll take Jones any day over Porter.

Seems like Jones always scores after being healthy scratched though, then does nothing for the next 10 games.
