So this is what will happen...

Fehr and the PA will make their counteroffer and Fehr will try to squeeze some more out of the NHL and say they are "so close". Bettman will declare that the sides "are so far apart" and throw a tantrum again. The NHL will take everything off the table again. And boom goes the season...

    I hope I'm wrong though. I'll take 48 games.

Sounds like Bettman has given a drop-dead date officially as January 19 for a season to start.

Maybe the owners were waiting to see what the "Fiscal Cliff" would do to their businesses? Just a thought

It's over. There is a lot of bitterness between the two sides. There isn't enough time to fix it and resolve the differences.

              I think they'll announce a deal early/mid next week.

Same here. They're not gonna announce it today or tomorrow when they've already said they need a week for training camp before starting on the 19th or whatever it was.

                No rush, apparently.

Sad that the Flyers have 3 prime candidates. I'd personally pick Bryz, but Pronger will probably get it because he's never going to play again.

I'd expect Leino to get amnestied if that provision holds up.

According to a source, Yahoo is reporting a 10-year CBA agreement has been agreed to.. Hopefully this is true!

                            Well, I'll be damned.

EDIT: Wait, it's the length, not the entire CBA... damn I'm a moron.

LeBrun and Aaron Ward say deal is close. Adrian Dater of Denver Post says it's a done deal, guess we'll get hockey this year after all.

                              Edit: And it's done.
