Is one Stanley Cup too much to ask? I mean it's not like I'm asking for 5 straight.

Let's retool the defense and hope the young guys learn from this.

It's ridiculously unfair that teams like the Ducks and Hurricanes can win cups and the Flyers can't. It's a travesty.

With the Devils win, the Wild have gained a 3rd round pick in the 2013 draft. Yay?

Flyers played 11 playoff games. Team that scored the first goal of a game went 2-9. Weird.

The universe is falling. When it was his time to shine and be a superstar, he really spaced out. Too bad he didn't play larger than life.

Too bad the rest of his team got sucked into a black hole. Switch goalies and the Devils still win in 5.

Bryz was not the problem...the defense was. I feel like a few guys were playing hurt too, but the defense didn't get it done.

Oh well, that is what happens when two good teams collide.

I still think 06 was the Sabres year if it weren't for all those injuries

Sadly, there are 51 million reasons why he will get a lot of the blame. The D was the problem and while Bryz wasn't terrible he didn't stand out or steal any playoff games for the Flyers. That's what he was brought in to do. He will unfairly receive a lot of finger pointing due to frustrations (i.e - the "Flyer goalie curse") and not reality. Unfortunately, his season was known more for his love of the humongous universe, his fear of bears in the forest and how his dogs remind him of hot blondes rather then playing decent in the playoffs. In this Devils series, he showed up more then half of the team. Even Briere called that out. Like you said, the D was the primary problem. How many Flyer fans see it exactly the way you do? He's gonna take some shots.

The big question now is, does Pronger ever return and does Timmo retire? It makes re-tooling the D more of a challenge with more "key" parts to replace.

was kind of humorous seeing Lavy and the Flyers complaining about an offsides call going against them. ha!!

kudos to the Devils, i thought the Flyers were going to come back and win this in 7.

Yeah, Bryz will get some flak especially after his giveaway last night. I think he does deserve some. He wasn't lights out often enough as a Cup winning team needs every now and then. But also because he seemed out of sync with his defense and didn't seem aware of where the puck was oftentimes throughout the playoffs.

But the rest of the team was the major reason we got thoroughly dominated by the Devils. No one showed up. Sloppy play all around. Credit to the Devils for forcing us into so many errors, mishaps, and turnovers.

That's a solid, underrated team there. They're going to give either NYR or WSH a run for their money.

Interesting to note... Last 3 Cup winners have gone through Philly (PIT, CHI, BOS).
                            NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
                            NFL - Buffalo Bills
                            MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I hope Kimmo retires...he doesn't have it in him to go a full season anymore and taking his cap hit off of the books would free up more cash to throw at Suter.

Congrats to the Devils- you were the better team and completely outplayed the Flyers.

It was a complete team-coach melt down. They thought they won the cup after beating the Penguins. Flyers were slow and couldn't handle the forecheck- all their efforts were spent trying to get to center ice.

Clearly the Devils and the Rangers have a nice blueprint for beating the Flyers. I know Meszaros, Kubina were out and a lot of ailing d-men but it wouldn't have really mattered. Better team won. The Flyers need a couple puck-moving d-men next year.

Bryz didn't steal a game but in many games he was their best player. His giveaway to Clarkson last night was a joke.

Now all my hopes are pinned to Andy Reid and the Eagles- crap!
