When are teams going to learn not to retaliate on Dustin Brown?
It sickens me when such a strong guy flops like an Italian soccer player. I respect Dustin Brown and all, and I see that he's trying to win by all means but this is outrageous. The call on Ekman-Larsson, should not have been a retaliation, if Dustin Brown's charge got called. Refs......

I know Brown draws penalties but I wouldn't say he "flops". I am biased being a Kings fan but when he "flops" are all situations the refs should call penalties anyways. I understand why he is so frustrating to play against as an opposing team though.

I'm partial to Dustin Brown myself. I see my man Clutterbuck playing that role when the Wild make a high seed run...leave me alone, it's fun to dream.

See you in 11 months, Yotes fans? It was fun when you pretended to care again, but please show up for the regular season for a change next year.

I remember being at work, screaming at the TV for the Canucks to take Kopitar with the 10th pick of the 2005 "superdraft". They took Luc Bourdon instead, LA took Kopi with the 11th pick. Ugh.

Weird fact #1: Before this year, the Kings had only taken a 2-0 series lead once in their history - in 1968! Now they've taken three consecutive 3-0 leads.

Weird fact #2: I've watched the NHL since the 80/81 season, and the '12 Kings are only the 4th team I've seen start a postseason 11-1. None of the other 3 teams ('83 Oilers, '95 Red Wings, '08 Penguins) won the Cup, going a combined 2-12 in the SCF.

Should LA start planning the parade (now of course even if they win I'm not sure if they would have one since the Lakers weren't going to have a parade until sponsors stepped up to the plate)?

I don't see the Devils or Rangers being able to win 4 out of 7 games against the Kings. The Kings were a very mediocre team during the regular season. I can't even explain what's going on.

Underachieving team finally got on track at the right time. Kings are 23-6-3 after acquiring Jeff Carter. I'm not sure if it was the addition of Jeff Carter or subtraction of Jack Johnson and calling up Voynov that has the made the difference though.

with the Pens getting both of those wins. lol. thats something though, teams roll through like that, only to run into a wall in the finals.

what were they though? 1 win away or so from winning the division and the 3 seed..

The Kings traded for Jeff Carter on Feb 23rd and went 13-5-3. That's a good record but not enough to indicate they would go 11-1 in the playoffs.

                            Why not?

Dr. Jones's examples of the '83 Oilers, '95 Wings and '08 Pens could be very apropos this season.

No one gave the NY Giants credit going up against the all-mighty Pats a couple of Superbowls ago (the "undefeated season").

No one gave the NY Yankees enough credit going up against a stacked Phillies team a couple of World Series ago.

How did those series work out?

I understand that in the case of NE and Philly (per my examples above), they had great seasons as well as post-seasons. However, the point is, you can't tell just yet.

The Kings are clearly dominating right now but running up against a team in the East, who they only play once a year, could change that fact. We all know the East and West teams have different styles. Albiet, not necessarily worlds apart. I'm not saying that the Kings won't continue their recent play but you never know. The Rangers are grinders and wear teams down. They are opportunistic that way. The Devils are more of a finesse team that loves to capitalize on any mistake. They are great at it.

The Ranger's D is just as solid as the Kings. The Devils offense is just as solid, if not better, then the Kings. Goalie-wise, the Rangers and Kings are dead-even. Quick is currently better then Marty but Marty has SC experience on his side. He's not what he once was but I can see him going out with one last gem.

Either team could give the Kings fits. I wouldn't be planning any parades just yet.

I totally see the Kings running into a wall against the Rangers, provided they take care of those damn Devils.
