I'm thinking Pittsburgh gets eliminated tonight and Vancouver stays alive.

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I think the Asham and Backstrom suspensions are OK but Neal should have gotten another game and Shaw definitely didn't deserve 3.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Asham had never been fined or suspended, clean history. He did the same as Backstrom, But Backstrom getting 1, and Asham getting 4 is ok? Neal should have gotten at least 5. Asham should have gotten an identical penalty as Backstrom.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
Yeah I guess I just assumed Asham had prior fines/suspensions. In that case he should have gotten 1 or 2 at the most. I can see a slightly stiffer penalty than Backstrom for the punch on the ground but Backstrom also made contact to the head vs Asham's contact to the upper chest so a strong argument could be made for giving them the same punishment.Comment

Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc
Coyotes' Raffi Torres requested in-person disciplinary hearing with NHL be moved to Friday. He's suspended until at least then.
Torres suspended indefinitely.Last edited by SidVish; 04-18-2012, 01:22 PM."You got it man. I don't watch hockey." SidVish"I thought LeBron James was just going to be another addition to help me score."

Bobby Mac tweeted NHL Players' Association asked NHL for the delay until Friday.
But this is a better answer.Comment

Shouldn't matter when Hossa steps on the ice again. That is the exact type of hit they're supposedly trying to get rid of. Here comes another chance to send a message. Will the NHL fail once again? All signs point to yes.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I have never seen anything like that goal last night by Kevin Klein. 3 defenders and the goalie all went after Martin Erat, and the net and rest of the ice were left wide open.
That play was like something out of NHL 12's online team play mode lolLast edited by jyoung; 04-18-2012, 02:02 PM.Comment

You'd have thought it would be a Cup-winning season for the Canucks, right?
I hope the Flyers take care of the Pens tonight. Pittsburgh is about as far gone as any team has been before, further then even the Canucks, but man, I want them gone.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
No doubt - it was high comedy. It reminded me of the original NHL hockey games on Genesis, where you could skate down the one side of the ice, then cut hard 90-degrees across the goal mouth, causing the defenders to follow you and in the process take out their own goalie, then you just chipped it back across into the wide-open net for a goal every time. For some reason, it worked better when you were going "down" on the screen.Comment
