Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
WHAT playoffs are you currently watching? Because I think you have some tapes accidentally stuck on auto-play from some other year. They beat a Penguins team that was easily even money to win it all this year. They are, what, playing down to their competition with the Devils. Even if the win this series, chances are they'll face a Rangers team who went unbeaten against them this year and have a goalie they have not solved. And let's say by some chance they do make it past the Rangers, they then face conceivably the hottest team coming out of the west, which may be the Kings right now..... and this is the easiest path??Comment

I doubt Vancouver was gonna beat anyone else except San Jose, though.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Surprisingly, I'm generally cool with the Kings doing well. Thus far, anyway.Comment

Re: The Official 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread
I guess I'll ask here, because I won't know where else to find it... but when listening to my local radio station's sports updates last night, I overheard a play-by-play announcer make a call on a goal in one of the games last night where he got really, really high pitched when he said, "SCOOORES!"
Does anyone know who the announcer was, or where I can hear the call? I didn't know if that was just a staple of his to call it so strangely, or if that was just a one-timer (pun intended) where it almost threw me off the road since I was laughing so hard.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

If you check around the video section of their website you should be able to find some highlights with him screaming like that.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

NBC's Doc Emerick gets pretty high pitched with his "SCORES!" call.
Flyers... Saw it coming like pietastrep said. You don't get two PP's in OT... and fail as badly as Philly did.
Something needs to change. Philly is getting outplayed at least 2 periods each game. They show up for 10 minute stretches then baffle you for the rest of the game. This team is so talented that they're able to still win games this way but it won't get them to the ultimate prize. The playoffs are meant to weed out the flawed teams.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

That said, it's character test time. We haven't been down in a series yet this postseason so we'll see what the boys are made of.
They have been good in these scenarios the past few seasons so there is that.
Giroux has been nearly invisible. I saw that he was trying but him and the other skill guys keep getting stifled. Credit to the Devils. New Jersey is definitely impressing me. They're playing a team game and getting contributions from their big guns like Parise and Kovalchuk. Brodeur is his usual self in net. Outside of the Briere goal last night, excellent rebound control by Marty.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Someone please explain the Kings to me...they are looking like world-beaters right now. No one is even coming close to them. Can they be stopped????
