Really? That's all you're asking for? In comparison to what your moronic GM turned down from NY, that seems like nothing.
All I can say is; Thank god Burkie's staying away from this. I've always liked him, and I guess this is rewarding me for sticking by him."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

)
Although I think Couturier can be really good, wouldn't CBJ want guys that has more of a track record back? I also think NYR can put a better package than that.

If any GM asks for Giroux or Couturier, Holmgren needs to hang up immediately.Comment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
If that deal goes through I think I'd stop watching. Trading Couturier, especially for an overrated and overpaid 55-60 point forward, would be the dumbest thing this franchise has done since letting Hextall leave the first time. He shut down Evgeni Malkin that whole series and he's 19 freaking years old. He's going to be a star.

First of all, getting 59 points, his lowest point total in years, on that team last year is nothing short of a miracle. Just curious, but could you name his linemates for most of the year?
SpoilerIf you answered Vinny Prospal and Derek MacKenzie, you'd be correct.
In any case, Nash is still a star. He needs a #1 center to be the true superstar that he is. Let's also not forget that Nash is a great penalty killer, while not being used because <del>Arniel was a moron</del> he never got his chance the past few years.
But I wouldn't expect to get SC. Schenn, maybe, but not SC.Too Old To Game Club

Very risky? As opposed to Phaneuf? Bouwmeester? Wisniewski? Markov? Ehrhoff? Komisarek?Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
He's also got a bit more offensive support around him, plays for a team with an offensive style and up till mid season only had 1 leafs coach to play for.
Nash has to play a large chunk of his games against Detroit, Nashville, StLouis and Chicago - not exactly a bunch of teams that love to give up goals on a regular basis.
I also think Nash's heart hasn't been 100% into that team. Not the way it's been run.
How many top picks have they had and yet none of them have panned out?
The NHL is a funny league. If you're not picking in the top 2 or 3 positions, you might as well pick in the bottom 3.
Can you imagine of the Jackets lottery luck was better and they ended up with a combo of Crosby, Malkin and Staal? Or Toews and Kane?
If so, we're not talking about Nash leaving town or putting up paltry points.
We're talking about Columbus fighting for, or even winning Cups and the Penguins being excited about opening up the new facilities in Kansas City.Last edited by Money99; 06-19-2012, 08:46 PM.Comment

Yes, risky, in case he's a one season wonder.... Komi's contract sucks.... Erhoff's deal is only 4M per the next however many years, which is good... Markov's is good when healthy... Wisniewski's was a head scratcher.... Bouwmeester seemed good at the time..... Phaneuf put up 40 points this year and only has 2 years left."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
The difference between the two, though, is that Kessel plays in the Eastern Conference, and more specifically the Northeast Division - arguably the weakest and most offensive minded division in all of hockey.
