Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Seeing as how you're in Toronto, you know how bad it is too haha. I know it won't be as bad in Denver. They're actually reasonable fans, unlike 99% of the Leafs' fan base."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa all have their share of crazy and meddling media. I do think Toronto and Montreal are the most extreme examples, with Vancouver these days coming in at a 1c position.Comment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Over the last decade, I'd say Vancouver's fans/media have been unquestionably more hyper-critical than Toronto's. Whether the Leafs retake the #2 spot remains to be seen. Montreal is unquestionably #1 in this category, though. Other than the Red Sox, no fanbase/media excels as much in fear & loathing.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
The language issues are unique to Quebec (in North America, anyway), no doubt. But if a Yankee pitcher beaned Pedroia and fractured his skull during a game at Fenway and there was no suspension, and Jeter later accused Pedroia of faking it? I'm guessing the Boston media and fanbase would... comment on this turn of events somehow.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Tyler Seguin 6 years 5.75M AAV.
Troy Brouwer 3 years 3.666M AAV
Blackhawks signed D Michael Rozsival 1 year 2M. Seems like they have a lot of DMen on their roster now. It's obvious they only signed him to get rid of Seabrook or KeithComment

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Right you are (Doan just re-signed for 4/21.2). Also, Alex Burrows signed a 4-year extension at 4.5M per season. Doubtless an overpayment considering he's 31, but Burrows has been such a ridiculous bargain the last few years, I can't complain too much.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread
Evander Kane 6 years 31.M extension.
Milan Lucic 3 years 18M extension.
Cam Fowler 5 years 20M extension.
Tyler Ennis 2 years 5.625M extension.
Looks like O'Reilly, Subban, Kulikov, and more isn't getting a new deal before the CBA.Comment
