Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread

Within 48 hours of me asking for Blackhawks turmoil, Kane is out for 3 months, there are reports of a fistfight in the Chicago dressing room, and veiled hints are dropped of Sharp sleeping with a teammate's GF/wife?

Apparently my powers are even greater than I imagined. Why didn't I think of this 5 or 6 years ago?

‪#‎TradeCentre‬: Panthers acquire F Jaromir Jagr from the Devils for a 2015 second-round pick and a conditional third round pick.

I'm surprised. This won't help with their speed on the wings, but he'll add some scoring, which they badly need for playoff push. Even though I wished he'd go somewhere else, where he could win a SC.

Oh, and also this: Jagr has been in the NHL longer than the Florida Panthers.

Why did Columbus just eat all of their IR money on Clarkson? I must be missing something here.

Hm, I guess if Horton stays on LTIR Leafs get to spend that money, correct?

I eagerly await Dr. Jones' assessment of this.

If Horton retires, he gets no money. If the Leafs keep him on LTIR until his contract runs out (see Pronger/Flyers), Horton gets his money, but the Leafs don't take a cap hit. Astounding.

An affordable 5-6 million for however many years for MLSE to make Clarkson go away.

                        EDIT: Wow!

Good deal for Leafs I guess. Just continue to clear cap space. Just dump everyone, and start an offseason with maybe 20M spent on guys and 50M of free space lol.

I wonder how MLSE views this 25 million dollar loss incurred by Nonis.

Doesn't matter, ticket prices will be raised at end of year anyways.

Man, this just seems like robbery to me. A 2nd rounder AND a conditional 3rd? I like this trade a lot. I'm really hoping this is the start of a real rebuild. Lookin' at you, Auston Matthews.
