They've really got to modify the high stick call in the NHL. If a guy has the skill to corral a puck that's sailing in the air and it's not dangerous to another player then give him his due. Maybe make this a judgement call, whereby if a player high sticks and it's near a player's face/head, then call it dead. Of course, if he hits another player with a high stick then it's a penalty. And do away with the "blood" call for a 4 minute, unless the ref decides something is intentional, somewhat like in basketball.

      Trivia du jour:

      - I started watching the NHL during the 1980/81 season
      - From the start of the 1981 playoffs until the 1984 Stanley Cup Final, the New York Islanders had home ice advantage in 14 of 15 playoff series
      - Since then, the Islanders have had home ice in only 1 of 17 playoff series
      - If the Isles win today, they'll have home ice for the first time in 27 years (the 1988 Smythe Semifinals, a 4-2 loss to New Jersey)

Woo! I can finally exhale! What a run the Sens have just completed. Remarkable. Hopefully they can avoid the Rangers in the first round.

Sens win and they are officially IN. Capping off the incredible late season rally.

PIT or BOS, today is your reckoning. Right now, I guess BOS is the better team as PIT has seemingly fallen apart with injuries.

          Should be fun tonight!
          NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
          NFL - Buffalo Bills
          MLB - Cincinnati Reds

              Congrats to the Sens.

Seguin is scratched because he was late for practice. Jim Nill should do the right/smart thing by trading him out of the Central Division.

Congrats to the Sens! Like the Flames, Jets. and Wild, played well down the stretch to earn their way in. Can't say that about Boston or Pittsburgh who have really struggled down the stretch

Looks like I'll be on the Sens bandwagon these playoffs. How can you not root for them?

Your wish is granted. Ottawa's playing either Montreal or Tampa. The Rangers will get Pittsburgh, Boston, or Detroit.

                        I'd rather Ottawa-Tampa and Montreal-Detroit in 1st round, then Ottawa-Montreal in 2nd round.

Let's go, Blues! Bring those Blackhawks to Nashville for a first-round battle of teams who've totally backed into the playoffs!

Monahan jersey ordered to go along with my Backlund, Brody, and Johnny. The only bad news is that we only have nose bleeds for the playoff games. Better than nothing though!

Still only an 82 overall rating in NHL 15, though.
