Lol, whenever I listen to Don Cherry, he always sounds like a raving lunatic.

I like Don Cherry because his segments remind me of old Macho Man or Ultimate Warrior backstage promos with Mean Gene.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 04-13-2015, 12:31 AM.Comment

You'd be amazed (and terrified) at the number of Canadians who take him seriously.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Claude Julien & Peter Chiarelli aren't going anywhere apperantly. Bruins held a press conference just now allowing both to speak.
I am at a loss for words.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
I'm surprised about the Bruins keeping both. It's clear that their team is getting stale. It reminds me of how the Flames were post lockout. After the 05-06 season when they were knocked out by Anaheim in the first round they thought they could use their old tactics to get back to the final. It was a colossal failure. Now look at the Bruins. They thought their defensive brand would get them far but their lack of speed and goal scoring has caused them to miss entirely. The league is starting to shift to speed and skill a little again and they don't have enough of those players on their teamComment

As far as the Bruins go, seems like a bit of an overstatement to say they've gone stale and the league has passed them by. If you'll recall, just last season they won the Presidents' Trophy and were 3rd in the league in GF.
Here's what went wrong for Boston this season, in order of importance:
1. Krejci missed half the season
2. Chiarelli never found anyone to replace Iginla's 30 goals
3. Chara's 38 and starting to show his age
4. They fell in love a bit too much with the bottom 6ers (Campbell, Paille, Kelly) that helped them win in 2011
5. Simon Gagne?? Maxime Talbot???
I don't think the Bruins' style has held them back; I think they no longer have the personnel to execute it to the level they had before. Wouldn't surprise me if they rebounded next year, though I think Chara's age has probably closed their title window. He's just such an irreplaceable difference maker.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Maybe not stat wise but look at the teams who made it this year. The Rangers, Tampa, St. Louis, Chicago all have depth, some size, but speed and skill. I agree with you though on all your points about the Bruins.
On an interesting note though Mason Raymond was odd man out as Bennett was playing with Colborne and BacklundComment
