I agree with others on the matter of jersey ads and commercials. At least in European sports there are no commercials. I actually think that would be a plus for the game. I'll even take changing ad boards if it meant no commercial interruptions. Can you imagine a hockey game being finished in roughly 90 minutes? Obviously this isn't how things will play out—they'll just bring us the new low of both.

Holy ****! The Leafs/Avs game starts with an Avs goal and one of the worst head injuries in terms of initial optics I've ever seen in an NHL game in the first 45 seconds.
EDIT: Winnik btw

Hopefully that's just head and not neck. Not that getting knocked out by having your head smash against the ice is a good thing, but a concussion would be a lot better than a spinal injury. Fingers crossed, that did not look good, his left arm looked to be ****ed up on the landing too, yeeshWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Winnik was walking around in the dressing room and didn't go to the hospital, so that's great news.
I've bitched and moaned about Brad Stuart, but he's been excellent on the PK. Part of the reason why the Avs PK has been really good this year. Sucks that he's out.Comment

Jersey ads are going to be coming to every North American sports league within the next 5-10 years (I imagine MLB will be the last to adopt it). I've just accepted it at this point.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Ugh, that fourth Blues goal was so disappointing.
I don't know what's up with the penalty kill, but it needs to get better. Take Salvador off of it, please.Originally posted by XXstormmXXThe reason I always root for multiple teams is because if one team doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated, I loose interest in the sport until next season if my team gets eliminated early. It doesn't even bother me anymore. Our teams are obsessed with "alternate" unis so much that traditional gear is nearly extinct anyway. Throw a godaddy.com patch on there while you're at it, who cares.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Interesting last minute in Canucks/Sharks. Bad offside call, bad icing call, great save by Miller, Sharks score about 0.2 seconds too late.
LOL at anyone thinking ads on jerseys will result in fewer ads on TV. Keep dreaming, kids.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Jake Voracek showing the league that he's a force to be reckoned with. Doesn't hurt to play with Giroux, but he can stand on his own too. Love his game and a great sidekick to G.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

He seems as those he's coming into his own as a leader and not just a role player, which they need more than ever with the defense hobbling along. That is, they will need many more 4 and 5 goal games versus hoping for 1-0 and 2-1 wins.Comment

Re: The Official 2014-15 Regular Season Talk Thread
Honestly, he took that step last season in my opinion. Wayne Simmonds ascent probably took some of the spotlight away. But Voracek was one of our best players last season and in the playoffs.
He has a certain style that you always know when he has the puck, other then the #93 on his back. Great size (actually not sure but he appears pretty big) with good hockey skills equals a really good player.
You're right on the expanded role as a leader. He's a scorer, make no mistake about it. But I remember last year, the opponent (can't recall) was taking liberties and so Voracek dropped the gloves and let 'em rip. Not that the Flyers are short on fighters or long on prissy prima donnas, but it's good to know that he doesn't need protection outside of his own two fists.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
