Apparently it's not a very good outlook for Bryan Murray. Stage 4 cancer and it's spreading through most of his body.

"There is no cure at this point for me," Murray told TSN on Thursday. "The word is that we’ll keep doing chemo and hopefully reduce the tumours and the effect and I’ll get some time out of that."

Nice to see Nino get his first career hat trick.

I'm not even sure what the hell was happening in that 1st period.

I hope this is the game that finally gets Yeo to give Nino top 6 minutes over Coyle.

Holy ****. Apparently a 14 year old kid just died after a check from behind in Brainerd, MN.

Not verified yet. Just initial reports.

Sounds like he collapsed. Not sure if a check from behind had anything to do with it.

Chicago was awful tonight. All turnovers ended up in the back of the net. Detroit spanked them.

No chance they trade Crawford he has been playing great and while it'd be great to dump Bickell like you said they're stuck with him unless they attach some nice prospect to him to make it enticing.

I can see a rough year or two while the young guys get used to the NHL but losing Seabrook (who has had some struggles this year) and/or Sharp isn't going to be back breaking in the long term.

Have to keep Saad and it'd be nice to keep Kruger but he doesn't provide a lot offensively so he could be getting too expensive for his role.
Are they loaded in the minors with defensemen? I like Clendening and they added Pokka in trade, but after that I don't see a whole lot of upside; I don't think Dalhbeck or Johns is anything special. TVR has already been called up to the NHL (jury is still out IMO) and Rundblad could be playing his way to a non-tender. The Hawks didn't take a defenseman in the draft this year until round 5. Seabrook is going into his contract year and Oduya and Rozy are headed to free agency. They could be rolling with a very young defense next season which is usually a recipe for disaster.

Up front, Kruger and Saad are headed to RFA and Shaw will follow the year after. Bickell is overpaid with a NTC and the Hawks cannot eat any of Versteeg's deal, so moving them may be difficult. They have a good crop of forwards coming; it will be about finding roster space and ice time to ensure their development. Stan Bowman will have to get creative about having the right amount of kids and vets so that none of the kids are rushed but have ample ice time, all while being under the salary cap.

Im pretty high on the group of Clendening, Pokka, Dahlbeck, and Johns but like you said having at least 2 of them on the roster next year likely won't bode well.

Rundblad has actually been playing better of late, I'm not going to say he's turned it around or anything but I think actually getting a little more playing time has helped his confidence (let me add I worked tonight and didn't see the game so he could have looked terrible tonight and if so I have no idea but sounds like a poor game all around). TVR has been solid but like you said too early to tell.

I don't deny at all it has the potential to be a couple rough years with that much youth but I think the group has a lot of upside, you're absolutely right though next year will without a doubt be a train wreck back there.

For the first time in my life, I feel like I have a real rival for the Wild. I think I might have been a little young for the Vancouver "rivalry", because I never really hated them.

But this season, I have found myself checking the standings pretty regularly to see if Colorado lost, lol

                                At least there's that. *shrug*
