Tarasenko just embarrassed Justin Schultz.

I remember when Schultz was supposed to be a great top 4 defenceman.

He was a ****ing beast at Wisconsin.

I definitely thought he would be a very solid NHL D-man. Now he seems to be more of a laughing stock.

This is what happens when you get rushed to the NHL on a bad team. I'm sure lots of teams would like to buy low on him; we'll give the Oilers Kindl for him.

Went to the Syracuse Crunch-Binghamton Senators AHL game last night...2 fights before we even get a puck drop to start the game.lol Lot's of energy...fun game.

This was for "Triple Play Baseball" (Jason Giambi cover), the 3rd EA baseball game I worked on. This was a strange year, as it was at the height of EA wanting to broaden their consumer base as far as possible (ie, try to get non-sports fans to buy sports games). Yes, this was as stupid as it sounds, and my head would silently explode at some of the weird things our executive producer would suggest at meetings. (Example: "Austin Powers is red hot right now. We should try to get Mike Myers to do funny commentary for us!" My left eyelid is twitching just remembering this.) Anyway, there was some big function at EAC where they brought up Giambi, Dusty, Chuck D of Public Enemy (he performed a "Triple Play" rap for the game's soundtrack), and flavour-of-the-month popster Vitamin C, who sang "I Know What Boys Like" on the soundtrack. I kid you not.

"Alright guys, September earnings reports are in, and it looks like Mario Kart 8 is the number one hit among kids."
"I know, 3.5 million copies sold in 4 months...how did they do that?"
"More importantly, how can we steal some of Mario Kart's thunder? Kids just aren't playing our NHL games like they used to."
"Maybe we can strike a deal with Nintendo to get Mario, Luigi, and his friends into our NHL game, just like we did back in the day with NBA Street Vol. 3?"
"That's nonsense, Johnson, that game's sales were worse than Dave Bolland's jersey sales."
"Come on, people, think!"
"What if...we create a new mode where kids can race zambonis?"
"OK, go on..."
"Team executives could be the drivers. I mean, Brian Burke already looks like Sonic the Hedgehog, so he's a natural fit!"

The only thing you got wrong is this:

In reality, it's more like, "What if...we tell the producers (who are already overworked and absolutely despise the idea, but don't want to lose their jobs) to create a new mode where kids can race zambonis? And then if consumers hate it, we'll take no responsibility whatsoever and blame the producers for misreading the market?"

Devils 0-13 in shootouts last year means 13 points. That's MORE than the top team in the East and West last year had in shootouts lol.

A team that should've been bottom 5 in the league, was just 5 points away from the playoffs cause of the shootout/overtime points.

Reasons like that are why NHL needs to just have win% and not points. Or if they do keep points, do the whole 3 for regulation win,2 for OT win and 1 for OT loss. And NO SHOOTOUTS.

Wait what happened now?

Lepore (hockey media blogger, does stuff for Awful Announcing and Rolling Stone) got outed for going from, "Hey, pretty hockey blogger, want to hang out?" to "Hey, I'm into photography, is it cool if I take some photos of you?" to "Hey, would it be okay if you wore Daisy Dukes and showed some boob?" in about the time it took me to type this. In Twitter DMs. To multiple female bloggers.

And here I thought I needed to get out more.
