      That THN cover is amazing.

At this point I feel bad for Kessel. He might not have the most likeable and outgoing personality but he's made out to be a much worse player than he is. He has to be the scapegoat when the reality is that team just isn't good.

At least give Dave Poile the gears too for trading Franson for Brett Lebda.

The GM of the team that's 1st in the standings, 3rd in available cap space, and recently acquired a 20-year-old star for Martin Erat? I'm guessing Preds fans will forgive the occasional misstep.

Meanwhile, here's what Damien Cox has to say about Nonis:

"While some want to sum up the entire Nonis era with the two words “David Clarkson,” a more thoughtful analysis of what he inherited from Brian Burke, what he’s done with it and overall patience with which the team has proceeded in all areas under his watch suggests Shanahan would do well to seriously consider retaining his services beyond this season."
Translation: "My status as an "insider" relies heavily on me sucking up to management for info, and Nonis has always played ball, unlike Shanny & co. Please don't fire my incompetent fat buddy!"

"PS: Don't just take my word for it; ask Simmons and Dreger!"

No idea who this anchor is on NHLN right now, but according to him, Evgeni Nabokov has HOF numbers.

I thought we were just tracing the chain of odd/bad decisions that led to the Leafs with Cody Franson, and the Leafs unable to re-sign Cody Franson. If this is about Nonis & MLSE=bad/Poile=good—I agree.

Coming out of the All Star Break, I (along with many other Wild fans) said that this was a season defining 7 game stretch. @ EDM, @ CGY, @ VAN, vs. CHI, vs. COL, vs. VAN, and @ WPG

They've won 6 out of 6. All in regulation.

Tomorrow will be tough on a back to back, in Winnipeg, and with a couple injuries sustained tonight. And especially if Dubnyk doesn't play.

But they are playing great right now. Awesome to see.

Ah. Yes, it is odd. Would be odder still if the Leafs ended up dealing Franson back to Nashville.

Now Zucker and Carter are lost for an extended period, which is going to hurt a lot. Lose one of the best scorers on the team and a very good PK guy. Coyle needs to step the hell up and start chipping in with some goals in this stretch.

John "has a high hockey IQ" Scott is having a career year in San Jose. Up to 2g 1a, and has increased his NHL career point total by 33%!

Bring back Colton Orr, he might have a career year also.

Looks David Clarkson is gonna be there awhile

                                From Chris Johnson from sportsnet:

Because the deal is bonus-laden it would carry a particularly penal buyout schedule if the team chose to go in that direction this summer — the Leafs would carry between $3.7-million and $4.7-million in dead money the next five years and then $466,667 for each of the five seasons beyond that.

I dont remember there names but they were allot of fun....
