They've struggled since the all star break, but Leafs could get back on track tonight against the Bruins. A regulation win would have them just 1 point back of Bruins with 5 games on hand. They're actually the only team with a positive goal differential not currently in the playoffs.

They also claimed Marchenko(one of the Wings top PK guys, and a player who shined alot for Russia in 2016 at the WHC and WCoH). Which means Corrado is waived, and Polak could be traded by the deadline. Not a major move, but a good defensive depth move for a team who needs defense.

Zadorov was a one man wrecking crew against the Jets today. Had a couple solid hits.

I'm still disappointed that Buffalo wasn't able to keep him. But getting O'Reilly in return makes it hurt a little bit less!

Leafs up 4-1 in Boston..........And Bruins tied the game. Where have I heard that before?

They then got their 5th goal before Bruins yet again tied it up. Leafs got goal #6 in regulation to win it!

Bruins fired Julien today. Everyone knew it was happening eventually.

Vegas is getting so lucky right now. Having Hitchcock and Julien available for coaches.

I hope this move hurts Boston alot. Playoff race is getting tighter and it'd be nice to see Bruins fall out of it.

I have no problem with firing Julien. But the Bruins are a spineless organization. With the way they handled this I'm surprised Claude wasn't fired between 10 and 10:30 on Sunday night. And Don save the bull**** that the PR department decided to have the press conference at 11:30 during Patriots parade so you could hide the fact that you just fired your coach.

Didn't watch it, but heard Dreger mention that Sweeney got grilled by the media for everything like firing and timing.

Dislike the fact the Wild have to play Chicago tomorrow after traveling tonight. Especially since Chicago hasn't played in a few days.

But oh well. 6 points up with 2 games in hand is a nice buffer going into 8 games in a row at home.

Every team has to do that(some more than others, Leafs for example I think do it the most). But its stupid how it happens. Is there seriously no way for NHL to just do home and homes for the back to backs? NHL needs rivalries and superstars. Superstar part is getting helped by the fact that McDavid/Matthews play in Canada. But how do you create rivalries? How about teams playing each other 2 straight nights in each others city, especially if some bad blood carries over from gm1 into gm2(or gm2s aggressiveness is because of what happened in gm1).

Speaking of rivalries...30 games to go, lets hope things stay the same. Leafs-Sens in RD1 where the winner plays the Habs in RD2. If we could get a semi-finals in the east of Pens-Caps and Habs-Leafs, that'd be best case scenario for the NHL from a ratings standpoint(as big as Boston/NY/Detroit are, I think Crosby vs Ovechkin might sell more).

Replay reviews in all sports are a joke. Not because replays aren't good, but because whoever is incharge of determining the result of a play is stupid. Both in hockey and baseball. How is it possible that so many instances in hockey and baseball(and even basketball at times too) they show replays where fans can clearly see the play went one way, but when the refs come back with the decision, they give that stupid "not enough evidence to overturn the play" call.

It is ridiculous when they can't get replay right when it's pretty clear. However, them's the breaks - it's nice when it benefits your team. Colorado scored a marginally offside goal in our playoff series a couple years back. It happens. The thing that made me most upset about that replay is that it completely wrecked the flow of the game. The Wild were completely dominating at that point, and it took a little wind out of the sails.

It was a great game though. And they come back to St. Paul next week. Should be another great one.

That replay was asinine. There's no way a review should ever take as long as that one did.

If I ruled the world, replay in sports would be as follows...

The refs get to watch the play again (full speed) from the traditional TV camera angle. Then they get to watch it once more, from an alternate angle. This allows for blatantly obvious mistakes to be corrected, but if you can't see obvious evidence that the call should be overturned after 2 more looks at it, stick with the call on the ice/field/court.

I don't blame the NHL for trying out expanded replay, but yeah, I'm not a fan. Here are my recommendations:

                                1. Refs on the ice (or in Toronto) can call for replays on whether the puck completely crossed the goal line

                                2. Coach's challenges (offside, goalie interference) still exist, but...
a.) Hurry-up faceoffs are reintroduced, and the challenge must come before the next faceoff
b.) If the call isn't overturned, the team challenging the call receives a 5-minute delay of game penalty
c.) If the call isn't overturned and under 5 minutes remain in regulation, the other team is awarded a penalty shot
