Random pet peeve, but I hate how some stations still use the Leafs old logo in their broadcasts(and other stations in general do that over the years to other teams who also get new logos). The new one looks so much better, why can't they just use it? Even TSN on occasion are using the old logo for some reason. They have the new logo sometimes, but other times just randomly change between that and the old one.

Yup, the DoPS is as consistent as ever. Shaw gets absolutely nothing.
I guess you have to murder someone in order to get suspended.

OJ Simpson would have made a great NHL player.

Dunno about that, but he would've been a top-notch analyst.

Damphousse's 94 point season in 89-90 is one of the better-ish individual scoring seasons by a Leaf. Gary Leeman also had 95 points that season—which again says something about the Leafs franchise over the years.

Ed Olczyk also scored 90 points for the the Leafs at one point. Of course 90 points in that NHL didn't mean nearly as much as just a few years later into the mid-90 to late 90's.

The one mistake they made is ranking people 1-100. Isn't that common sense to never assign people a specific number when doing lists, especially like this? List the top 100 and all, but shouldn't give them numbers. Thats just asking for people to criticize the list. Imagine if nhls upcoming top 100 gets assigned numbers..... that'll cause chaos.

Tonight's the first hnic of the year! Let's hope Rogers learned their lesson after trying to turn a tradition into a generic corporate cash grab that turned into it being a shell of its former self, and was only hnic in name only.

Ron back as host, most "analysts" gone(including Glenn "I will bash the leafs during every one of their hnic games for my entire career" healy). Would be nice if the changed hnic feels unique again. Not just "Saturday Rogers Sportsnet hockey". Their own graphics again, own music, pre-game video packages which used to be the best in all of TV, all of it.

Don't know about in USA(though all I know is that NBCSN will be airing the game itself), but in Canada on CBC, coverage begins at 6pm with Leafs pre-game ceremony(it's 90 minutes long, but only 1hr will be shown on tv).

Great...the one Saturday the Jays play, it coincides with a historic pre-game ceremony for the Leafs!

Some are speculating that the ceremony itself could feature

Turns out the rumors were somewhat true. Leafs did have retirement ceremony....but for every number they've ever honored in their history. Everything from Sundins #13 to Gilmours #93 and lots more. Surely this is a record for most numbers retired in one night. Cool to see though cause it's so rare in Toronto sports to see. I think Alomar for the Jays was the first real number retirement for any Toronto team. Sometimes breaking tradition is a good thing.

Really showing how much the new management cares about not just the current product, but the past and future of a storied franchise. The way Shanahan has gone about so many things so far is amazing. Such a rocky relationship with management and fanbase for so long, now finally someone who gets it.

The ceremony itself was cool. Funny how badly the ACC staff messed up on the banner unveiling, but rest was great. Felt like a rebirth of the franchise type of thing. Like the Leafs had been gone for a decade+ and just came back this year and are properly honouring the past while beginning a brand new era for the future.

Speaking of new era...Marner got what turned out to be the GWG as Leafs beat Bruins 4-1!

Nice to see the Wild fight back to beat Winnipeg tonight. Supposedly Boudreau laid into them after the first period, glad they responded!

I completely forgot that Boudreau was out in Anaheim and that he landed in Minnesota.

Flyers rookies are playing well and we got 3 of 4 points in our opening back to back games out West. Hitting Chicago on our way back home so that should be fun. Can't wait for 7PM EST start times again!

Konecny has 3 assists in 2 games! Calder Trophy is oursssss! Lol

The Jets are pretty bad, but yeah, it was nice to see the team wake up after not playing to the horn in the 1st period. Despite scoring that PP goal right off the faceoff, the PP looks completely out of sync still. The zone entry strategy isn't working.
